Great Bit holder with a strong magnet. This is the 2 inch magnetic bit holder I was looking for. It’s total length is just under 2 inches. It is a bit pricey, but it appears to be a quality product. I have not yet used it to drive screws in my impact driver. I can remove bits with my thumb and index finger for quick bit changes. I tested the magnet with a #2 square drive bit (2″ bit) and an 8×1 1/2″ Pocket hole screw. The magnet holds the screw through the bit in both the horizontal and straight down position. The hold held up to MILD shaking in the straight down and horizontal positions. The hold in all positions held up even when I added a 1/8×1 inch Fender Washer. Occasionally, the Fender Washer was dropped with MILD shaking in the down position. The washer also frequently fell to the bottom of the screw in the down position. When I used a worn 1″ T25 bit with a 9×2-1/2″ screw, the magnetic hold was weaker. Screws held in both the horizontal and straight down position. The horizontal position posed the greater hold challenge. There was noticeable sagging in the horizontal position. MILD movement often caused the screw to unseat from the bit, but the magnet still held the dangling screw to the bit. When I used the worn 1″ T25 bit with a 9×3″ screw made by a different vendor, the hold seemed better than the 9×2 1/2″ screw. Apparently. the fit of the bit to the screw or the iron content of both the screw and the bit matters. When I used a 1 inch PH2 bit, I was very pleased with the results. A 1 ¼ inch drywall screw remained seated with MILD shaking in all positions. A 1 ½ inch galvanized wood screw remained seated in all positions. MILD shaking sometimes caused the 1 ½ inch galvanized wood screw to drop to the floor.

Reasonably strong magnet given it’s small size. Doesn’t stick out too far. Only improvement I’d make is a locking slide collar to keep bit from being dislodged from accidental side torque.

Very simple but quite effective. I use this for a 12v DeWault kit I recently purchased. This is the best quick change bit holder I’ve used in any of my drills. Very happy

It cost a little more, but works great. Better than most magnetic things.

Product looks different from photo HD showed for review. 2 in. Magnetic Bit Holder Internet #: 204651742 is what I purchased. That said, it was very easy to insert and remove bits from and held them firmly while in use. Very good!

I purchased this to use specifically in the Ryobi drywall screw gun. The holder that came with the Ryobi does not have a strong enough magnet to hold screws. I purchased a 2 1/8″ bit holder from another big box store that said it was magnetic, but it also failed to hold a screw at the tip of the gun. This one fit the drill and the magnet is strong. The screw will stay on the bit even when the gun is upside down. You can load a screw, hang your gun in your tool belt, use both hands to get the board up & then screw it off.

Just stopped by for a quick review on the way to buy a couple more. I guess I should start by mentioning that this driver is not the one pictured. It’s actually better. It uses 2 retention mechanisms – a clip and a strong neodymium magnet which work together to hold bits extremely well. The inner diameter also appears to be machined and offset slightly to discourage corner wear. The logo on the outside of the bit holder is actually roll stamped instead of printed like the one in the picture if that matters to you. Attention to detail and value are high here. They aren’t the bit holders around, but they might be the best.I’m going to be using these whenever possible from now on.

These are excellent quality and the shortest bit holders I can find. I bought two to try them out and I’ll be ordering more.
