The Hilti 4-1/2 in. Angle Grinder features a 7 Amp motor that can generate up to 11,500 RPM of grinding strength. The sealed switch mechanism helps protect the switch for longer life. The 2-position side handle offers comfort and control by mounting on either the right or left. For safety, a dead-man switch turns the grinder off once pressure is released.

Needed a grinder to level out the concrete floor in the bathroom. This grinder worked well and was well under $100 less then anything I could find with a diamond cup wheel and dust hood. Got it on sale for 50$ off, just had to wait about a week to receive everything. The grinder and diamond wheel came in two days but the hood took a week to get. Had to buy a reducer to go from 2.5″ to 1.5″ to attach the vacuum to the hood. Dust was kept down to almost nothing unless I had to open the front to get close to the wall which still was hardly anything. The grinder doesn’t have all the features like soft start or a brake to stop the wheel fast. For the limited use and savings it is well worth the price I paid.

Worked great on cleaning up leftover thinset from tile. Be careful because it can bite into the concrete if your not paying attention. Make sure to add a couple gallons of water to the shop vac to make it an almost dust free job.

I needed this for a very small amount of grinding. The only issue was connecting my vacuum it’s hose was the same size as the intake on the grinder. Once I came up with a way to connect the two it did an excellent job of collecting the dust.

WOW! I had been looking for a grinder and a diamond blade to remove old mortar from the wood subfloor. Not a big area, maybe 200sqft. I looked at the standalone options, such as buying the grinder, cover and blade separate and it was approximately 160 bucks for all of it. I even compared with Harbor Freight since I only needed this for a one time job. Well, I ran into this package with everything I needed for 100 bucks and I figured I would give it a try.Am I glad I did, not only did I save some money… This grinder did the job amazingly easy and fast. The cover connects to the vacuum for easy clean up and it worked really well, very little dust escaped, the surface of the subfloor is now clean and smooth… Ready fory new hardwood floors.I am very happy with the grinder and wheel and recommend it to anyone.

The Hilti angle grinder with the diamond grinding wheel and dust shroud worked very well. The shroud eliminated at least 95% of the dust. I used a Fernco plumbing connector to attach the shroud to a Craftsman wet/dry vac. I removed 400+ square feet of thinset from a plywood subfloor. The diamond grinding wheel lasted for 300 square feet so I had to order another diamond grinding wheel from HILTI, cost $70.00 plus shipping. I think any quality angle grinder with a diamond grinding cupwheel would work fine… but the shroud and diamond grinding wheel design for this grinder is the key to almost dustless grinding. Plus the package cost is a real value. I’ve had it for a month, the product performed perfectly for my project.

We are tearing up the carpet on a concrete floor. The old hardened glue comes up easily with this. Make sure you put about a gallon of water in a 5 gallon shop vac to collect the dust. This will keep the filter from clogging so fast.

Project: Grinding down concrete footing 1/4” inside finished house for doorway . Grinder worked perfectly until vacuum filter plugs and dust fills the room, which doesn’t take long even with water in bottom of the vacuum container. It’s a pain to keep cleaning so l purchased a “dust deputy “ I was able to complete my job In about 1hr grind time without stopping to clean out once.

Used this to remove thinset after tile removal. The only issue was, the dust shroud outlet is not a standard size, it took a lot of time and work to get a “universal” shop vac adapter trimmed to fit.Hilti should either make the outlet a standard size, or include an adapter to fit standard 2.5 inch shop vac hoses. Then this set would rate 5 stars.After I got the adapter to fit, and attached my Rigid shop vac, it work great to remove the thinset on a concrete floor with minimal dust into the house.
