This thing is a champ. If you’re using a 20V cordless hammer drill and wondering if it’s worth the money-just but it. Hammers out concrete, slow drills tile. Goes through concrete in 5 seconds. Awesome drill

I wish I had this drill a lot sooner. I have been doing some masonry projects with a mason bit on a regular drill. Not easy and takes forever. I got this hammer drill and what a difference. The project pictured was a step I added in my workshop. I was able to drill holes in concrete quickly and easily. Since this drill comes with 3 different size hammer drill bits and a flat chisel it is all you need to use for hammer drilling, rotary drilling and chiseling. The drill is a good comfortable weight. The keyless chuck is nice and makes it easy to change bits. I also like the reverse rotation and the lock button that helps for continuous chiseling. It also comes with a dust collector. Only negative I have is it didn’t come in a case.

This Hilti SDS Plus Hammer Drill does it all, and does it well. The package deal includes 3 hammer drill bits (3/16 in., 1/2in., and 5/8 in.) and a flat chisel/scraper bit, so it’s a pretty good value too. It’s rated for optimum drilling up to 5/8 in. diameter and up to 1-1/8 in. maximum diameter. I have already used it to drill ¾ in. diameter anchor holes in a concrete floor, without any issues. Another nice feature is the “hammer only” mode, which turns it into a perfect tool for popping up a ceramic tile and effortlessly scraping off mortar residue.

Good power for it’s size and it is on the smaller size for SDS tools. I see it like a good hammer drill that takes SDS bits and has a hammer feature. You won’t be drilling 1” holes concrete all day with this but it will give you some of the benefits of an SDS tool in a nice size and weight for smaller projects. For concrete max ⅝” diameter bit is recommended and the drill can do 1,300 RPM, 5,160 impacts per minute with 1.8 ft-lbs for single impact energy which is good enough for a lot of boring and light chiselling projects. The included chiseling bit was useful for removing some old tile.Quality you’d expect from Hilti. Comes with a good assortment of SDS bits as well as a dust catcher which was very nice and works well to keep dust off your face when boring in ceilings. It feels a little weird having the direction switch being on top of the drill but it’s right where you can see it so I didn’t get too lost looking for it. It’s nice and big, easy to set even when wearing heavy work gloves. On the side is the mode selector switch that can be set for drilling/driving, hammer drilling, chiselling and a mode that allows you to align the chisel. The trigger is easy to control and has a trigger lock that’s activated by the thumb if you’re using your right hand. If you’re left handed chances of accidentally locking the trigger seem small but so are the chances of doing it intentionally too.The side handle is easy to operate and the depth gauge can easily be set using just a thumb which I really liked.Quality tool from a quality brand that helps put SDS tools in the hands of people that want them for smaller jobs without spending a lot.
