Connecting an Iogear 2 port KVM Switch with a Plugable USB Sharing Switch. The two sit right next to each other, so this 6 inch cable is just right. Be warned that a 6 cable is VERY short!

This was under the purchase this too segment – when I bought a printer, you know it suggests other items that you will need, I selected this USB cable and additional toner etc. I guess it was my fault, for not looking closer, but I assumed when it said that I would need this USB cable, that it would recommend one that was LONGER! This was a joke! I pulled it out of the box, and the cable between the two ports was 4! that wouldnt have connected my printer to my computer if they were sitting side by side! I haven’t a clue why it was a recommended but I ended up having to run to Office Depot, and no one there had even SEEN a cord that small! What a JOKE! Save yourself a trip to the store, LOOK CLOSELY, it’s not 5′ it’s .5 – sad part is, it’s like 5 bucks, so it’s not even worth returning! LOL

Enough length when printer is side by side with the computer.

I use this with an Iogear 2 port usb automatic printer switch. I have 2 of these 6 inch cables that go out of the printer switch, one goes to a 7 port USB hub for a Mac Pro & the other to a 4 port usb hub for a Windows PC. I only needed short cables so they work perfect for me.

I finally broke down and bought 3 15′ USB cables. I was tired of arranging things according to the short USB cables I seem to have plenty of. My workstation now has everything where I think they should be and it looks great.
