— full disclosure — there’s a reason it’s on sale. It’s a discontinued model (mine was manufactured in 2018). Note also that the HP-branded XRite colorimeter, the HP DreamColor Calibration System accessory has also been discontinued by HP. I bought this monitor for photo editing, and it will be entirely suitable for the purpose. Had I had the above information beforehand I believe I would have still purchased this model. p.s — Oddly, the only cable it DOESN’T come with, out of the box, is an HDMI.

Monitor was an 11th hour choice purchase for my new M1 Mac Mini, after had been set on getting a BenQ as the monitor for it. The reason for acquiring the HP, was price, and that it had a better, higher lever of brightness, compared to the BenQ, as value was equal in importance to me, next to color/display quality. So, why I did some last minute additional research of monitors, before ordering the BenQ, to make sure I was going to be getting the best bang for my buck. I came from a 9 year old 15 Macbook Pro with retina screen, to this screen, and the HP is a very fine quality monitor and screen to look at, especially for my photographic work, where the near 100% Adobe RGB was a selling point, as well as it’s contrast ratio, and brightness… much better than the old screen on the Macbook had become… was good to see my images pop again on the screen, and to be able to see the full range of tonality again. I am very content and pleased with this monitor and would highly recommend it. My only critique would be, my coming from the much higher screen resolution of the 15 retina display of my old Macbook, which was in the 220ppi ballpark, to the HP which is only a 96ppi resolution, text is a lot more jagged, and not as smooth, and took a spell to get used to… but, now have, and am again pleased with my purchase – very good and nice monitor for the price.

i saw this on sale, and the price couldn’t be beat. for a little bit of an old man of a monitor, this critter rocks. display-cal showed 144% sRGB color space after calibration. (comes precal’d from the factory, but i calibrate the native output so i know what i know.)

This is truly an amazing monitor. For being such an old model it just blows anything I’ve seen away. I’m an amateur photographer and am on a budget, I managed to get this used so even more of a deal. I was stunned when I saw just how much color my gaming monitor was missing, I definitely suggest this if your on a budget because you won’t be disappointed. It’s built like a tank also so quality is excellent.

I bought this monitor to replace a 10-year old one that I suspected was giving washed-out colors. Compared to the old one, this HP has noticeably bolder and brighter (while still realistic) colors. In addition, it is well-built, and the height, tilt and rotate mechanisms all work smoothly.

I paired this screen with another HP DreamColor Z24x G2 24″ monitor. Easy install and the monitor has excellent resolution.

I’ve been using the monitor for about a week now. Color seems accurate compared to what we print. I wish there were more options for the contrast and luminance settings.
