Designed for work and play, the M27fw 27″ 16:9 FreeSync IPS Monitor from HP, which lets users immerse themselves in a massive canvas that helps enhance comfort, wellness, and stability. This display employs IPS panel technology, a 75 Hz refresh rate, a 5 ms GtG response time with Overdrive, AMD FreeSync, and more. The IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel affords wide viewing angles of 178°, so content can be viewed from almost any direction, while AMD FreeSync synchronizes the display’s refresh rate to the frame rate of the graphics card to greatly reduce or eliminate stuttering, juddering, and tearing during gaming and video playback. A refresh rate of 75 Hz means that the display refreshes 75 times per second for smoother motion and a response time of 5 ms means color changes will be virtually imperceptible. Lastly, coverage for 99% of the sRGB gamut delivers a wider color space and more lifelike images.
HP’s M27fw has been built using an anti-glare panel, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 75 Hz, 8-bit (6-bit + FRC) support for 16.7 million colors, a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, a static contrast ratio of 1000:1, a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1, 300 cd/m2 brightness, a 3H hardness rating, and 81 ppi. To further help improve viewing and accessibility, the display features a vertical tilt of -5 to 25°.

Easy connect and setup with HP computer. But my only complaint is why can’t they place the controls on the front. Who cares if it looks like a photo frame I want to be able to easy find and use controls not spend several minutes searching every time I want to turn it off. Or worse with my computer have to flip it upside down to get to controls on the bottom since I can’t see them. Please move important controls to the front.

I bought this monitor 3 months ago together with a PC tower. The monitor appeared to be good quality until this morning, when a dark vertical line green line appeared 2-3 inches from the left edge for no apparent reason. After looking for a solution online without success, I tilted the monitor back to check the serial number so I could try to contact support, and the line disappeared — a bizarre solution that I had to repeat when the line reappeared. When I went on the website to get support and entered the serial number, I was told the number pasted to the monitor did not match the product. I stopped buying HP products about 10 years ago because of problems with reliability with 2 of their computers (both failed in 13-14 months) but decided to give them another chance in hopes their quality control had improved. I am afraid this is not a good sign.

I am very happy with this monitor. Love how sleek it is. The colors are great and have had zero issues with it over the last two weeks. Wish it did have sound, but added a sound bar underneath it and it does the the trick.
