Five 5 years ago HP was second to Lenovo in these high end laptops, Today I am not so sure. The internal config of the HP seems more versatile that the Lenovo T series, with room for 2.5 drive AND NVMe – Lenovo makes you choose The cast aluminum frame has a very good feel, if only silver in color. The AMD CPU is the current king in performance AND low power consumption (both vendors have this). I’m impressed overall.

I purchased my HP ProBook 455 G7 on May 21st 2020. This is not my first laptop and I think this will be a good choice after problems with the Bluetooth are resolved at which time I will write a full review. For some reason the Bluetooth crashes several times each day and after it crashes connected devices show as paired but not connected. I have updated the HP 579 system firmware from version 1.1.3.0 (3/26/20) to version 1.1.4 (4/27/20) and I have updated the Bluetooth driver from 1.7.1002.3001 (1/6/20) to version 1.7.1022.3003 (2/13/20) and although it seems to crash less frequently, the problem still persists. I have shut off smartphone and other potential Bluetooth interference sources but nothing has improved. I can recover from crashes by going to the Bluetooth settings screen in Win10, turn off the Bluetooth, wait, then turn on the Bluetooth and wait for the paired devices to reconnect. This is an annoying problem and I hope it gets fixed. I will try reaching out to HP Technical Support for help but so far none of the solutions offered on their webpage have fixed the problem.

Great deal, got the AMD 4700 chip with 16GB RAM and SSD. Very very fast and stable. It wasn’t clear in the product desc that the specific version I got had no fingerprint scanner, but that’s pretty minor — the deal was hundreds less than from the HP.com website.
