Designed primarily for high-end gaming, this 27″ In-Plane Switching (IPS) monitor supports 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution and has a 144 Hz refresh rate with a 4 ms response time, providing liquid smooth graphics at high frame rates. Meanwhile, AMD FreeSync technology helps remove stuttering delays and screen tearing by dynamically adapting the display’s refresh rate to variable frame rates. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and 350 cd/m² brightness for clear, vivid images and videos. HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 inputs are available for connecting to your system, and an HDMI cable is included. With its wide 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, you view the screen from almost any position. The x27i also has ambient lighting that casts a glow onto the base and stand. It can be customized match your environment or what’s on screen, to help diffuse the display’s bright light and help reduce eye fatigue. The stand allows you to adjust the screen’s height, swivel, and tilt to fit your comfort or you can use the VESA mounting holes to attach the monitor to a wall or monitor arm for added versatility.

I bought this monitor over a month ago and tested it out before reviewing. It is an excellent monitor for both gaming and work. It has a clear image and allows you to make some adjustments as needed if you want a different image. The only downside is that it has no sound system so you will need to buy your own speakers.

Pros: Monitor is good looking and displays images in great detail. The refresh rates and motion quality is fantastic. Controls are easy to use when calibrating monitor to desired settings. Cons: Across many images on HP’s site it shows a clear picture of all the green areas being lit up. This is not the case, even support agreed, so they sent me a replacement monitor. Still no difference in the green lights. After speaking with support again I was told the only green lighting will occur in the middle bottom area, the rest are overlays. Pardon my candor but, as you will see in photos clearly the difference.

Ordered system. Got monitor first. Got PC weeks later. Didn’t work. Called support. They had me return the PC. After many weeks got the replacement. Still didn’t work. NOW they think it is the monitor. I can return and wait 3 weeks to get a monitor back. Over 2 months and still no working system. I am livid.
