It all turned out alright in the end and the actual purchase/delivery of the item was a breeze. But that was only after a long learning curve trying to isolate the specific problem and then there was the problem of finding the correct ink cartridge for my device. I’m on the HP Instant Ink subscription plan which has HP monitoring my ink cartridge levels and automatically sending me replacement cartridges as needed. It works pretty well. But the problem I had was not that my color ink cartridge needed replacement due to a low ink level. My specific problem was that I needed to replace my color ink cartridge because I had popped something off the new color ink cartridge I was installing into my printer, thus rendering this new color ink cartridge useless. The printer recognized there was a problem with this color ink cartridge but because the problem had nothing to do with a low ink level, HP did not recognize this as a cartridge needing replacement or that I needed a brand new cartridge. With a malfunctioning cartridge and then an empty cartridge slot, I assumed HP would recognize I needed a new cartridge. HP knows exactly how many pieces of paper I use to print each and every day. HP knows exactly when my ink cartridges need replacement. each and every month. Surely, why would HP NOT know I have an ink cartridge here that’s malfunctioned and that needs to be replaced or fixed? It appeared they did not know. I didn’t realize this until several months had gone by and I had received several shipments of replacement cartridges from HP but all of them were black ink cartridges, none color. I would finally figure it out. It was frustrating, time-consuming, expensive. It all turned out fine and alright in the end but why did I have to go through all this? But if not me, then who? HP, that’s who! HP!
