Able to easily fit into smaller workspaces, the LaserJet Pro M227fdw All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer from HP still manages to deliver outstanding speed as well as a multi-functional design that incorporates printing, scanning, copying, and faxing into a single unit. It will help your office deliver sharp documents with its 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution and can work quickly and efficiently at up to 30 ppm in simplex. Automatic duplex printing is also available at up to 18 ipm and the printer has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and NFC for various mobile printing protocols, including tap-to-print.
Opening the door for scanning, copying, and faxing is the inclusion of the 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed and a 35-sheet ADF that can work with media up to 8.5 x 14″ in size. General media handling is offered in two ways, either through the main 250-sheet input tray or a 10-sheet priority tray. Operation of the printer is intuitive through the 2.7″ touchscreen LCD and there is a front USB port for directly printing from or scanning to a portable drive. Additionally, it offers USB 2.0 and Ethernet, in addition to the wireless options.

I bought this printer a month or so ago. It’s a great size and prints beautifully, however the technical aspects have not yet been worked out. I cannot get the fax to work. Also, I have been on the phone with tech support about how to print from anywhere, and after four representatives and four hours on the phone, I’m nowhere and now they’ve messed up my HP Smart login as well. So I’m quite distressed, to say the least!

Its been a month, the printer was working fine, since 2 weeks now, the printer won’t work wireless. Everytime i want to print through wifi, i have to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the printer and thats on all of my PCs. I tried resting the printer, uninstalling HP “Smart” the drivers, it works one day and the next i have to do this processes all over again.

just bought disappointed with the scanning, no easy fix tried searching HP support seems like software glitch file size on scanned file why to big tried to go into settings to reduce no luck working from a Mac based system, understand settings can be changed in windows ?…help!

Overall this device seems well built, but wireless printing is plagued with problems. Connecting with USB always works, but with wireless, much of the time we get the message that the printer is offline, even though both the printer and the laptop are connected to the same network. We know that it is connected because another laptop (we have two) may work fine with the printer. Never can tell which one will work and sometimes both won’t – seemingly unpredictable.

The MFP M227fdw is a average-priced product in today’s all-in-one market, and in the opinion of our small office group, it is exactly that– average. It has its good points, including fast and sharp printing, a small footprint, and very usable software to drive functions such as scanning documents, all of which you also get these days from other brands in this space. On the other hand, its matchbook-sized LCD screen, through which all commands are given, can be infuriatingly unresponsive to anything but the fussiest of finger touches. (What happened to dependable, easy-to-use buttons? Let’s guess– a single little LCD screen is cheaper for the manufacturer?) The shipping box arrived in good shape, we plugged it in, we set it up, and it works. But like an average appliance, after 2 months nobody hates it nor loves it. If you’re expecting a product that seems neither better nor worse than its competition, this is it.

Good printer but the only issue is the top feeder, it’s very fragil so that means your top scanner won’t work and you’ll see an error saying “Document feeder Mispick”

I am pleased with the quality and features of the printer, but I found that installation and set up of all of the available features was difficult. I can use the device for the basic functions of printing, scanning and copying at the computer, but have not been able to make other features work, including wireless printing from other devices in my home or remote printing when away from home. The instructions need to be improved.

It’s great, but within a few weeks it printed a few pages that were all black, except for the letters (white) and a one-inch strip running down the length of the paper. Then it went back to normal but still had a one-inch strip that was blurred and mostly white. After printing a few hundred pages it is now mostly normal but still has blurred spots along the one-inch strip that first appeared.
