Using my printer infreqently causes some unique problems: mainly poor print quality upon first use. Head cleaning takes up so much ink that the cartridges run empty rather quickly. HP assistance insisted it was a printer problem and needed repair, but I found a solution for the clogged heads that definitely saves time and ink. Besides, the printer cost less than the ink cartidges; not worth sending in for a repair that is not needed. I spray some glass cleaner, with amonia, on a paper towel, remove the cartridge from the printer and pass the heads over the damp towel a few times. I reinstall the cartidges and run the cleaning utility one time. This saves the cartridges, and print quality returns. I only wish I had found this out 3 printers ago.

HP stopped providing the interface which would reveal the number of copies each cartridge provides. They advertise each should provide around 200 copies but when we’ve kept track it is much less (around 135). Maybe that explains why they’ve started selling a “high yield” cartridge product.

It was easy, fast, and a quick fix. I wish that you could find some cheaper ink cartridges that are compatible..I received some ink cartridges that said they were compatible with my printer, i didn’t know if you get h.p., then you have to always use hp brand. They want all the money!

I don’t know if this is the ink cartridge’s fault or not, but I wasn’t seeing horizontal lines in my color printing before I installed the new cartridge and now right after installing the new cartridge and aligning as usual, the first picture that I printed has horizontal lines so the quality of photo printing is not good.

It’s a wireless printer with a scanner….constantly goes offline. Am fairly tech savvy but have had to have a tech friend over 5 times to get it to print. It still won’t print random things attached to emails that are crucial , like boarding passes, or work related items.
