I’m very happy with this monitor. I use this monitor in combination with a z32x and they work well together. What’s good: The most obvious: fantastic amount of real estate. It is beautiful and matches the resolution and colors of a z32x perfectly. It is very solid on its stand. It wobbles less than my z32x. You can power a MacBook from the USB-C upstream port and then acts as a docking station for the Mac (power/5 USB/audio). Lots of types of display connectors. What’s not so good: Heavy! Unlike my z32x where the controls are on the front, this monitor has the controls on the back on the right. If you use it on the left in a multi-monitor setup, it can be difficult to get to the controls. It would have been extra helpful for them to put the power button closer to the bottom (its like 5″ up). It is hard to identify the connectors on the back without using a cheat sheet. It doesn’t always go to sleep so I often have to use the power button that is hard to reach. Overall, I like this monitor and would buy it again. I would also buy my z32x again, which is how I ended up with this z32.

I have had this monitor over a month now and am very happy with it. I was concerned as I read about other manufacturers having problems with this size monitor. This monitor delivers. I recommend it without reservation. Only wish is that at this size the screen had a curve to it. It is used to edit video with premiere pro. Picture is very good quality, enough ports for my use. I use a HP pc for the edit computer. I did purchase the 5 year extended warranty. Figured if HP was wiling to warrant it for that long the quality should be there. So far I am happy with it and recommend it. I think you will be happy

Yes, it’s very big and I can fit a lot of full-sized application windows on the screen all at once. And, the display rendering is beautiful for text and graphics. I like the OSD controls and I think they are (mostly) intuitive. I like being able to switch back and forth between different color modes easily. It didn’t come with a manual so there must be one online. The display stand/base is sturdy and substantial, unlike some other stands. This is important because if you are a keyboard pounder like me then you want a robust, stable stand so the display doesn’t bounce around as you type. This one is rock-solid. But, to get the best rendering (4K and 60hz), you need the correct cable for your computer -AND- in Windows you might still have to go to Settings-Display-Advanced Display Settings-Display Adapter Properties-List All Modes [then select the highest resolution and refresh rate available]. Lastly: if at all possible, select a like-to-like video cable for your PC or Mac -AND- make sure to check the video specs on your computer. Some video out ports on your computer may not support the full 4K at 60hz. For example, my laptop only supports 4K at 30Hz through the HDMI output, but it will support full 4K at 60hz through USB-C. I tried using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable, but that did not work well (again, choose like-to-like if at all possible — so HDMI to HDMI or DisplayPort to DisplayPort, or USB-C to USB-C which is what I used and is probably best if you have a USB-C video out port). I think it should be easier to get the most out of your display without a lot of research (and I had to call B&H for technical support). Still, I think it’s a great monitor, makes my work easier with the large display area, and I would buy it again.

Low quality electronics (power module) with high pitch whine, i.e coil/capacitor whine (headache after long usage). Received new replacement with the same (even worse) issue. Do not recommend.

No exaggeration. It’s almost too much when you first get it… in like the best possible over the top gorgeous way. If you’re someone who is into tech and gear then you know the feeling. I read and research a TON before I buy something like this (and for this price no less!). So I had very high expectations and I’m so glad I picked the right monitor that’ll last for a long, long time. If you have a USB-C laptop or device, this is a no-brainer. It is the single nicest monitor I’ve ever been in a room with. It is full-on, shock-and-awe if you’re into that kind of thing.

I have used this monitor for seven months and it just died. HP support is saying the serial number is incorrect. I would not buy this product again.

I bought the HP Z32 near the beginning of the pandemic lockdown when we were worried that we would be stuck at home for a long time. (Maybe as much as two months! Ha! If we only knew then what we know now. Sigh.) I bought it because I had an older HP monitor that was showing signs of going. I had had that HP monitor for a long time, so I thought highly of the brand, and thus was happy to choose another HP monitor. (As it turned out, those problems went away and the older HP monitor is still going strong). On the one hand, the HP Z32 is a very good monitor. It provides ample screen space. It has many ports. The image quality is very good. (As one of the other reviews noted, you do need to be very careful when setting it up to make sure not to scratch the screen. It is big, so the setup may be a two person job.) On the other hand, several of the ports have failed, twice. It worked fine for a good while, and then the Mini-Displayport and Displayport stopped working. HP replaced the monitor. It worked fine for a good while. Then, on the replacement monitor, both the Mini-Displayport and the Displayport started flickering. Now, the Displayport is completely dead (I checked the cable with another monitor, so I know it is the port), the USB-C video port works and then quickly stops working. The Mini-displayport seems okay for the moment, now that I added a Mini-displayport extension cable, on the theory that the cable was too short before and prone to jiggling by accident. HP’s support was very good and is sending another replacement, since it is still under warranty. So… Pros: High quality screen, excellent support from HP. Cons: The monitor ports have failed on the original unit and on the replacement unit, initial set-up of the monitor on the stand isn’t the easiest (although any monitor this size may be similar in this regard). Recommendation: If you do buy the HP Z32, also purchase an extended protection plan from B&H, since while hopefully you won’t have problems, given my experience with this model, you might.
