Compatible with select HP desktop and laptop systems, the Spectre USB Type-C Travel Dock from HP adds USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI 1.4, VGA, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to systems equipped with Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C that also support DisplayPort 1.2, sleep and charge, and are powered using an AC adapter of 65W or less. Your host system’s power adapter connects to this dock using its USB Type-C input, which only supports compatible USB Type-C power adapters and will not transfer data.
In addition to providing data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gb/s, the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port provides up to 5V / 0.9A of power, while the USB 2.0 Type-A port provides data transfer speeds up to 480 Mb/s and 5V / 0.5A of power. Both USB ports are compatible with previous generation devices. While there is one HDMI 1.4 port and one VGA port, dual monitors are not supported and only one video output may be used at a time. Supported resolutions include 4096 x 2160 at 30 Hz and 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, and there is also support for HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.2. The Gigabit Ethernet port is compatible with 10/100/1000 Mb/s networks and supports Wake on LAN from S3/S4/S5 states.
HP’s Spectre USB Type-C Travel Dock connects to your host system using an integrated 15.71″ USB Type-C cable that supports DP Alt mode with Power Deliver 3.0 and provides power up to 20V / 3A. Protection is provided by a limited 1-year warranty.

Simple and easy to use. Plug and play incarnate. I simply connected the USB-C cable to the PC and the monitor to the dock, I was in business…plugging in the keyboard/mouse dongle into the dock was the only other step. Rocking and Rolling from there…

This docking station works fine for my HP. Was disappointed that it did not transfer the screen to my monitor with the laptop closed. Need to have the laptop open, but then there are 2 screens. Just a little annoying.

device itself is good looking but has a VGA port, which I don’t need and only two USB ports. but they don’t tell you on the site what they have so only found out when I got it delivered. also it has two ports for display but it wont work displaying two monitors.

Bought this for my new Spectre360 which is 4 k, along with my new HP U28 high res monitor, only to learn that this unit won’t support 4k 🙁 HP took the product back without issue so no problems. Now if HP would only get some inventory so I can actually get the right thing we’d be in good shape!
