I’ve had this printer for 2 years and it has never functioned properly. First off, there’s something wonky with the cover to the paper tray and whenever I print, some internal mechanism actually shoves one corner askew about 1/2 inch. Additionally there’s an internal tray for loading photo paper that apparently needs to be in a certain position or it won’t work (even when not printing photos)…I get a message that says “photo tray is blocked” (?). If I take off the paper tray lid and kind of move it around, it’ll fix itself. Those two issues have been happening since it came out of the box, and I’ve just dealt with them. More of a problem is that it’s always printed with streaks. If I replaced the cartridge it would be better (not perfect) for a bit, but would develop steaks again not long after. I’ve replaced many almost-full cartridges when I needed something printed, but it’s gotten ridiculous (and expensive!). I’ve run every maintenance function (align, clean, etc.) and nothing seems to really work. Maybe I don’t use it enough and the cartridges dry out or something (?), but that would hardly be a good excuse. I have two HP laptops and an All-in-One desktop. all of which work great, but this printer has been a real bust. Since it’s out of warranty, I will likely just scrap it to avoid further frustration and investment in expensive ink cartridges. Bummer!

Don’t get me wrong. The printer works. It connects as it should. But the printer is loud, noisy and generally uncomfortable to use. I am also not sure that it prints as fast as it should.

Brought it almost a month ago. Very easy to operate.

What happened to “plug and play” installation? Using the app is needlessly complicated. Scanning requires the app. Why not just push the scan button? I have been what I consider an advanced IT user for over 30 years. I works fine after an extended learning curve.

Black and White printing is faster than my HP C309g printer was. Issue with Color cartridge has been resolved.

I can’t remember how long we had our previous HP printer/copier/fax, but it never failed us. It finally gave up supplying the blue ink on demand and my wife needed full color printouts for work. We donated same to a veterans organization since they did not require full color copies/printouts for veterans assistance. She is till chuggin’ for the vets. This HP printer fell right in to it’s duty station and picked up where the previous HP printer had performed so well.

I bought this printer several weeks ago and I’m still learning about all the new items available I recommended it to a friend and they bought the 7855.

This printer replaced one that was not a photo printer.

Love this printer….except when I have to change paper or print a photo. This would be a 5 star printer if they didn’t mess up the paper loading and had eliminated the ridiculous 4 x 5 ish photo paper “tray?” This has awesome wireless functions and prints acceptably but I wouldn’t buy another until they fix the horrific paper loading problem. Unfortunate.

I have stuck with buying only HP printers for 25 years and I have never been. dissatisfied. I depend on print and scan features 24/7 and these machines deliver.

I was amazed how quickly it set up and was attached via wi-fi to my HP Laptop. It is now my installed printer replacing my old HP Cse895 that ran so well for 14 years. I hope the Envy lasts that long!

Bought this printer about 2 years ago. Nothing but problems. Says it’s out of ink when new cartridges have already been put in. Prints very light. Says photo tray is stuck every time you try to use it. 3 hp laptops took a nose dive within the first two years, had one worked on, quit working 2 days after I got it back. HP has went way down hill. Will only purchase Dell from now on. Sad, you use to be my favorite brand for tech.

Features of the printer are nice, however the performance of the scan feature is unreliable with the wireless software. Appears to be a common problem based on internet searches since I purchased it. Will now try to use USB cable in lieu of wireless functionality.
