Print, scan, copy, and fax all from the 7855 while enjoying inexpensive and automatic ink ordering since the printer is ready for HP’s Instant Ink Program. Printing is of the highest quality with a maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. You can also enjoy improved productivity with ISO print speeds of up to 15 ppm in black and 10 ppm in color. Automatic duplexing is available for two-sided printing and you can use either a 125-sheet main tray or 15-sheet photo tray depending on the type of media being used.
With USB 2.0, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth LE connectivity built-in you should find it incredibly easy to setup wherever you may want it. When networked, you can connect directly to the printer from a mobile device, making it easy to print photos right from your smartphone. For scanning, copying, and faxing, the 7855 is equipped with a 35-sheet 8.5 x 14″ ADF and an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed, both with an optical resolution of 1200 dpi. Additionally, the printer offers a 2.65″ touchscreen for intuitive control as well as a USB port and SD card slot for direct printing from and scanning to portable storage devices.

As always, a great product! But have issue with the model number 7855 in that the 4 x 6 tray (photo tray) has a paper-detector that will not allow regular 4 x 6 index cards to be recognize. My former HP printer did not have the detector. Instead of the automatic feeding of which tray to feed from, I have to go into Printer Settings & Page Setup to change the tray every time. I use the index cards a lot, as that is how I print my recipes. Why not just eliminate the detector (would be cost effective) & allow the photo tray to simply feed any paper that is fed into it? Keep the home owner printers simple, please.

Give me back my Photosmart 7520. Even though it failed, it was much easier to use than this Envy Photo 7855, which is not a good replacement. The screen and buttons are way too small and the buttons often require several taps before they work. Set up was a bit frustrating, not what I would call intuitive or well explained. It does print and fax (keyboard buttons for dialing are too small) okay, but I don’t see any advantages. Scan features are minimal, compared to Photosmart 7520. Apparently the only resolution choices are default and “high,” with no level definition of either.

I participated in a market research study and received the HP Envy Photo 7855 to evaluate. Overall… I LOVE IT! Can I say it any louder, lol. This photo printer was so easy to setup and install. It was super easy to use. After installing the app on my smartphone, i was able to print almost everything right from my phone. Not only pictures but also documents. I was able to scan them from my phone and send wireless to the HP Envy Photo 7855. The picture quality was super clear. The photo paper is really convenient priced and it automatically knows when you are running low and will auto order and send you new paper refills. This is such a great printer to have in your household.

The printer is very unreliable due to bad software. Every 1 in 3 jobs fails with printer gets stuck at “Printing” status, after which printer needs to be power-cycled to work again. Powering down via the button _always_ gets stuck with “Turning off” status and the power cable needs to be physically unplugged and replugged. Even scanning doesn’t always work — occasionally the document feeder refuses to pull the documents (even though it gave an audio cue indicating the document is detected).
