I scoured the internet and everywhere I could possibly think of to find this HP Yellow ink cartridge. I see this B&H Photo place and am wondering, really? HP doesn’t have these things, how could they? I even did a search for them to see if they were for real! So I ordered on line, at at the same price from my supplier, or even HP. I really doubted whether I would ever see it, and probably lose my money too. B&H got the order out immediately, and I received it without issue! I have bookmarked their site, and look forward to doing business with them in the future. Sorry I doubted you, and so happy to find a dependable supplier with fair prices!

After I replaced a previous Matte Black 746 cartridge on my HP z9+ 44 printer I found the new ink does not smudge, so the previous ink cartridge must have been defective. I called HP DesignJet support and they are sending me a replacement cartridge. At least it was still in warranty and they are standing behind the product.

HP needs to reformulate the Matte Black ink with better binding agents. Unlike all the other colors of inks in my HP Z9+ 44, Matte Black will smudge when a print rubs against other papers. This happens with all the Matt papers I have printed on, and even HP Matte Adhesive Polypropylene for signs. I am working on a Japanese style orihon artist’s book with accordion folds of Hahnemhle Bamboo paper, and getting transfer of the Matt black ink from page to page. Trying to stop this smudging with spraying the prints with a fixative varnish, but I would like it if the ink were more immobile after drying.
