I purchased this set to replace the failed keyboard on my HP workstation and was intrigued by the use of a radio link for communication that was not Bluetooth. And getting the cables off my desk is a plus, and helps with clutter. The USB transceiver is plugged into a USB hub built into one of my video monitors, so it is close to the mouse and keyboard. Yes, I can go across the room with them, and they still work, but that is not a requirement for me. All I did to get the new peripherals working was to plug in the dongle after removing the old cables. Windows booted up, loaded a driver and we were up and running. The keyboard is a bit lighter and a bit more compact than the previous one, but the key spacing and touch feel is identical so I sense no change when typing. So far everything is good.
