Good for hardwoods, a bit strong for softwoods.

using full force the punch dose not penetrate deep enough…

Works as expected. Now its a question of will it last. So far so good.

Being able to keep your drill bit from dancing at the start when drilling through metal ensures the hole is centered where you want it. Like many folks, I used to try using a hammer and nail. That does a fair job on softer metals. When it comes to the harder metals it’s not as easy. When marking a hard metal, it’s not about how hard you strike it, but how quickly you strike with just the right amount of force. This spring loaded punch does a great job of both those actions.

Not exactly what I thought it was, but it will be useful on other projects. Shout out to Alan in Hardware/Power Tools. I have been frequenting Home Depot almost all of my 31 years and have never come across an associate who cares so much about the guests in the store and has a strong work ethic! Thanks for your help, you solved a massive problem for my wife and I.

I’ve used this punch about two dozen times on three materials: oak, aluminum, and mild steel. It’s a good buy for the price. I once bought a punch at Hazard Fraught and the spring broke on it after a couple of uses. I’ve used better punches but those were too expensive considering how fast I seem to lose these small items. Next time, I’m in Home Depot, I intend to pick up a few more.

Worked as advertised- The strongest setting easily marked up Brick- actually chipped it- so would recommend a few test punches and using the lightest setting that works for your material.

Adjustable pressure spring makes it a good punch

It worked well, but the dimple it made would have been deeper if it was made with a regular center punch and hammer. It was easier than a hammer and a regular center punch though.

Works ok, just dulls the point when using on steel, probably made in china, their steel products are not as dependable as US made.

Did what it was supposed to do but it was really expensive. I found one at Harbor Freight for $4 that worked just as well so I returned it.
