I believe that the Husky rasp, very efficiently does what a drywall rasp should do.

This is a great drywall plane. Unlike other, more expensive brands, it is lightweight, does not clog easily, cleans out quickly and cuts on both the pull and push stroke. Replacement blades are available, however, unless you are a professional, it is unlikely that you would need one for a long, long time. This tool does one job only, but does it very well, faster than the competition, and at a lower price.

Putting up drywall of all thicknesses making cuts and what not; this drywall rasp make life so much easier grinding down a spot for perfect fit to frame work.swiping is multi directional cuts. Has a comfortable non slip grip.I use to always just use a drywall saw knife but this rasp is so much better.Black in color and cleans out easy. However it does not jam up much under proper use.Glad to have in my tool arsenal!

This is a very coarse rasp. If one put to much mud in a small area of a mudded wall, this would be the perfect item to use. The problem I foresee is if your a novice at mudding and sanding walls this rasp could possibly damage the sheet rock if not used properly. With that said, the rasp is very strudy and easy to use. The rasp can and will take a lot of material off the wall.

I am actually really impressed with this 6 inch drywall rasp. The first thing I noticed is that the grip is quite comfortable. I have used a few that made my hand cramp up after a while but this one has a nice ergonomic grip to it. Most importantly it worked really well. I love that the blade is set for both directions. I found that it took more off per stroke that my old rasp. I am happy to have this.
