Oil! Oil the glass cutting tip! That is what helps making this process so much easier. This glass cutter did the job for me when it came to cutting 0.125″ thick glass into 8x2cm pieces. Score one side, flip it, tap around the area where you left a mark with the ball end but gently, flip it again and break the piece on the edge of a flat surface.

excellent cutter. i’ve used it extensively over the last 2 years. just as, if not more, durable than more expensive glass cutters.

This glass scorer would probably work for breaking thin glass planes, but I was trying to break bottles cleanly. I used the scorer extensively along the bottle, then heated the bottle with a flame along the scoring, then plunged it into cold water and applied pressure to the glass (this method is not recommended as you might cut yourself). I was able to break one out of 3 glass bottles relatively cleanly, but it required some muscle work with the scorer and several tries. The blade was dull after using it on three bottles, but they are inexpensive if you’re going to be doing a lot of scoring I’d recommend buying more than one. The handle feels high quality and is made of metal.

Does the job and very inexpensive. Well worth the bargain for a tool that comes in handy when you least expect it.

Was a little nervous cutting a large 3×8 mirror, but this tool worked as a charm, paying for itself in a single job. Not sure of long-term durability. I would guess the carbide would eventually chip off, especially if you press too hard.

Really needs lots of oil to work.

worked as expected. Will perform even better when the cutting wheel is oiled with a little machine oil

Love this product. It’s lightweight and cuts glass easily. I bought it to cut glass for a picture frame that I was in love with but shattered the glass. Had the glass around the house and cut the glass without oil it wasn’t a problem. Took less then 5 minutes including outlining where I needed to cut. I was my first time and I did wear gloves and safety googles because glass just unnerves me. Overall highly recommend this product.

Make sure you oil the blade, it makes all the difference! I loved having all the features in one tool, much easier than some other glass cutters I’ve used.

Worked great, scores glass cleanly every time. I’ve been using it to make cups from glass bottles, and if you keep getting uneven breaks it isn’t because of the cutter, its because you aren’t heating the score line evenly, or are using too much heat, blowtorch etc.A sure way to get a clean break is to use boiling hot water and pour it on the score line, then try to pull the bottle apart, repeat if necessary. Works every time.g
