The Dual-Pawl technology of the New Husky 100-Position 1/2 in. drive ratchet provides access to turn fasteners where other ratchets can’t with it’s ultra-narrow 3.6° arch swing. Not only can the head flex to 7 different angles but it also has a locking trigger to hold the head in place. It is 10% longer handle allows for increased reach to access hard reaching fasteners and improves overall leverage. The Industrial grade black finish gives the tool a sleek look while adding durability and corrosion prevention.
- 7 locking angles at 17° intervals gives you access to hard to reach fasteners

. I like gadgets and this is a new one. Most of my hand tools are Husky and I have had great luck with them. The immediate start of the ratchet function is a nice feature I only got about 24 positions but that’s enough to fit most situations. The handle is stronger and heavier than most. As always Home Depot’s guarantee on hand tools is hard to beat.

I bought this ratchet for the hard to reach area. The slim body of this tool make it easier to slip into the bolt. And the close gear ratio is also a big help in those tight spot.

This review is for the Husky “3/8 in. Drive 100-Position, Locking Flex-Head Ratchet”. This appears to be a solid tool, though it’s unclear to what the “100-position” part of the name refers. The head flexes in 11 steps between the +90 position (relative to a regular wrench) and the -90 position (see photos), and locks in all of them. That provides great flexibility for those hard-to-reach nuts that come up now and then. The extreme positions won’t be much use as they provide virtually no torque on the drive itself, but everything in between is better, and eliminates the need for a separate flexible socket extension. The locking mechanism (photo) appears to be a single tooth engaging what is essentially a worm gear, and while it certainly holds the head locked now it is already showing some signs of wear. It may start slipping over time with heavy use. The package claims the ratchet mechanism engages “instantly”, and while that is physically impossible it’s close enough to true that it doesn’t matter – there is virtually no travel before the drive engages to turn the socket. That means no wasted movement in the tight confines of an engine compartment or other situation. It’s a joy to use. The quick release ball lock mechanism to hold the socket in place is solid and smooth, and the lever to switch ratcheting direction is just as nice. The only downside to this tool is the thin handle; it’s just not as “beefy” and comfortable to use as it could be. Overall it’s a great tool and will come in handy in many situations.

Got this for father’s day after having my eye on it for awhile. I’ve used it to do spark plugs, an alternator, and several oil changes. The flexibility allows me more clearance to keep me from scraping my knuckles and the 100 teeth means I get it done faster since I can turn bolts further in a tighter space. Bottom line if this isn’t in your toolbox you’re working too hard. I will definitely be buying this one’s big brother in 1/2 inch and catch the flex head ratcheting wrenches next time they go on sale.

I been using ratchet professionally a months and have had any issues, you feel quality not up to par with snap-on or matco, but has been a good ratchet nun the less.

This is a really nice ratchet. I love the idea of the locking flex head but the mechanism is kind of hard to do with one finger. You have to work the mechanism back and forth to get it to line up just right to get it to latch. Once it is latched is is pretty solid. The black color is nice too. It is not as smooth as the chrome polish so it is a little easier to hold onto when oily. Overall it is a good ratchet and I would recommend it to anyone.

overall performance of the ratchet is excellent. I personally like the fine tooth ratcheting, especially in tight places

So far this has been a good ratchet. The detent holds sockets and extentions well and while there is a little play in the swivel head even when locked, it’s still less than half the price of the snap on version. I would buy it again.

This tool is very-well-designed and includes some helpful features. Unlike the ratchet that this one is replacing, the flex head has a dozen detent positions. The others typically have a detent position for a straight handle and 45°.In addition to the numerous handle detent positions, Husky has added an improved locking mechanism that permits locking the head angle at any of the detent positions. This is very helpful when working in a situation where having the head flex while applying torque is a disadvantage. The detent lock can easily be applied or released with a thumb, from either the face or the back of the ratchet head. The 3.6° arc on each ratchet click makes this ratchet perfect for use in tight working conditions.Like other Husky ratchets, this one has an excellent, positive locking mechanism for holding sockets on the ratchet. The quick release button is designed to be essentially flush with the back of the ratchet head and is unlikely to be released inadvertently. The extra-long handle allows for a bit more torque to be applied.Excellent design and quality.
