My review will be a comparison of this versus my other large department store ratchet. This product is heavier than my current 1/2″ ratchet, 12″ versus 10-1/4″ long, engages immediately rather than after a small lag, has a recessed as opposed to a protruding ratchet release, has a barrel shaped as opposed to a flat handle, and has a head profile of 3/4″ rather than 7/8″. I assume this 1/8″ shaving is why it is called low profile. It is black except for the ratchet connection and reverse switch which are unpainted steel. It comes in a package that could be reused as a hanging holder if you are so inclined.

I was looking to upgrade my ½” ratchet to one that could advance the ratchet pawl in smaller increments. This is sometimes very useful when confronted with tight quarters where it is nearly impossible to engage a fastener with your socket unless you are able to rotate it just a few degrees. From that perspective, this ratchet does an admirable job. This is especially helpful when the ratchet handle is longer than normal (as it is here), making it even more challenging to swing the handle in close quarters. Of course, the extra length provides better leverage too.Although the product appears to be well-constructed of heavy duty metal components, I wish the handle had been designed to be more slip-resistant. For example, a cross-hatch etching on the handle would help shed oil/liquids from the surface of the handle making it easier to grip. The quick-release button is a thoughtful design feature, and worked well to help me easily release stubbornly seated sockets.Indeed it is a longer handle than a standard ratchet, but I don’t understand the “low-profile head” labeling because it seemed to be about the same depth as my standard ratchet (see picture). This is a nice tool to complement your ½” socket set.

The only thing I don’t like is the depressed release button. It’s cool and probably works for most people but I have to use my pinky to remove the socket and that’s an odd new practice. The finish is great and handles big torque

Bought this because i was tired of the play that i would get in normal ratchets and mine are getting old. I bought 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 so far ive only used the 1/2 and 1/4. The 1/2 was for rotor/pad change and i was very impressed with the comfort level of the handle right away. The 100 position made removal of the two bolts that hold the caliper in place a breeze in a normally tight area. Also its handle is longer than other 1/2 ratchets (that i have at least) so it gave me more leverage to break the bolt open. Now the 1/4 i used to take a radio out of my daughters mazda and thats done car audio know that space is extremely limited behind a radio and this ratchet made life a million times easier! This is my first set of Husky anything so well see how it holds up over time

Exactly what I needed, at a reasonable price. I had to combine several tools, to get to my oil pressure/sensor in the back part of my 5.3 liter Chevy engine. This tool allowed me to do it and saved me around $500, from having to have Chevy do it for me.

This 1/2″ drive, extended length handle, 100 position ratcheting drive not only looks good but operates well. The extended number of ratcheting positions allows for a mere 3.6 degrees of movement between “clicks” allowing for ratcheting capabilities in even the tightest of locations. The handle is a bit longer than an ordinary socket driver making it all that more useful in hard to reach places AND allows for greater torque. Lastly, this ratchet features a ball detent lock firmly holding sockets or extensions in place to prevent them from falling free of the ratchet. Can’t wait to get my hands on a 3/8″ drive!

Worked as it should. Love it. Way better than some of my other ratchets.
