I picked this up and it has become a go-to for my oil filter on one of my vehicles. I’ve also used it in tight spots where I can’t swing a regular ratchet or wrench and my air ratchet won’t fit. Definitely a great compliment to my tool set.

This 1/2″ drive, extended length handle, 100 position ratcheting drive not only looks good but operates well. The extended number of ratcheting positions allows for a mere 3.6 degrees of movement between “clicks” allowing for ratcheting capabilities in even the tightest of locations. The handle is a bit longer than an ordinary socket driver making it all that more useful in hard to reach places AND allows for greater torque. Lastly, this ratchet features a ball detent lock firmly holding sockets or extensions in place to prevent them from falling free of the ratchet. Can’t wait to get my hands on a 3/8″ drive!

What a great option to reach hard to get to places.

A very innovative design for a palm ratchet. It pivots in every direction so you can squeeze into pretty tight spaces. However, it’s not necessarily easy to keep a good grip on, especially if what your ratcheting is stuck or really tight. It would be better if there were deeper indents for your fingers so you can have more leverage. But for simple jobs it’s great.

Husky 3/8 in. Drive 100-Position Gimbal Ratchet seemed a little gimmicky, but the gimbal action does make it useful in more tight situations. The value is really when you have the tool on the nut and the gimbal allows you to get more comfortable to apply maximum force. It allows you also to tilt it to fit in tighter places. For me it felt like I was turning a really stubborn valve handle. There is enough force to get at small sized nuts not completely frozen and beats trying to get another tool or ratchet into position. The torque force is obviously low as you are using mostly your palm and fingers to twist without much of a mechanical advantage, but in certain specific impossible situations its a great idea. I tried it out on my car engine easily getting it into small areas to attach to nuts and was able to loosen several with no problem. One did cause a problem so that’s why I wrote about its limitations. The tool has a good feel, the clicks are positive, the gimbal action is smooth in transition and the collar completely turns around and over the tool. Its something I want in my toolbox, its inexpensive and for those circumstances will save a lot of aggravation. I like it and quickly realized its not a gimmick at all.

This is a great tool for tight spots, and when direct tool access may not be available. The gimbal ratchet makes it easy to align to bolt patterns when direct sight is not available, either. The tool is large enough to be manageable, not being too big or too small. It is not too large to make it clunky or difficult to navigate those tight spots. The tool feels well build and durable for years of use. The gimbal ring is just the perfect size. The drive is 3/8″, which is great for me because my socket sets are all 3/8″ drive, and it is an extremely common size to locate. The direction selector on the top of the tool is easy to actuate with one hand as well.It is only a small hand tool without a leverage device, so getting a lot of torque with this is difficult, however attempting to get a large amount of torque with this tool is an inappropriate use of it as well.Overall, a nice tool to have around, and a lifesaver those couple of times when it is absolutely needed. Ive tried turning just a socket by hand in a tight spot, and I am glad that I have this now!

This ratchet worked perfectly. I bought it to use to remove bolts in very tight location while replacing power steering lines on my diesel truck. My regular ratchet throw would not allow me to even start to loosen the bolt

There are many tight spaces under the hood of modern cars, so ratchets like this are a great help in getting both torque and turn in an engine compartment. In places where I could hardly get one click out of my trusty old ratchet I can get five with this. I can position this for just the right amount of room to really apply torque and the shape of the handle saves the hand a lot of soreness. It’s even repairable, so it should last a very long time. The black finish can make it hard to see in tight spaces, but the coating makes it much less slippery than polished chrome.

Great ratchet for working with limited swing. Unfortunately it didn’t last long. The third time i used it, the insides got bound up and it doesnt work. How do i go about getting it warranteed?

This Gimbal Palm Ratchet is made in Taiwan and guaranteed forever. It’s 2″ in diameter and 5/8″ thick not including the 3/8″ adapter.Appears to be all metallic construction. It’s reversible and the center ratchet mechanism rotates 360 degrees (thus “gimbal” mount) relative to the outer notched collar. There are 6 notches (flat spots) on the outer collar which give you a give a good griping surface when using it. The construction seem to be quite robust. It operates quite smoothly. Great tool to have for tight spaces where’s not enough room for a regular ratchet or wrench and you can quite turn the nut by hand.

If you have ever unscrewed a bolt in a tight spot, like down under the side of the engine where you can’t even see the bolt, you will know what i mean. Trying to use a slippery socket or a too small to grip socket extension will just make you frustrated. But with this tool you can easily, one handedly, remove the bolt or nut. This is a tool I will be finding even more uses for as a quick and easy bolt remover. Invaluable when you need it!

The only thing I don’t like is the depressed release button. It’s cool and probably works for most people but I have to use my pinky to remove the socket and that’s an odd new practice. The finish is great and handles big torque
