Husky Knurl Grip Universal Sockets feature a knurled ring around the base of the socket providing added grip when using the socket without a drive tool. Sockets also have a tapered base (sizes 9/16 in. – 3/4 in.) making sockets easier to grip when removing them from a drive tool. Never owned a set of knurl grip sockets, but will be purchasing a full set soon. This 1/2″ socket grips bolt heads very well and gives you the flexibility of heads that may have some previous damage. The socket is well made and heavy duty for all kind of work. For a mechanic of any kind this is must. The size being etched on the side is Win! makes it very easy to find the socket you need

Great little socket. Grips well and flexible enough for multiple uses. The knurled grip makes it easy to spin.manually. It has a nice black matte finish with the size written on it in white lettering that is large enough to read without my glasses. One note of caution in that it is NOT recommended for impact drivers, but other than that, it will be very useful.

I was in a rush to get a short 19mm socket to complete a car repair, and was surprised to see the knurled grip when I got home. I never had one before, and the knurled grip is so much more versatile than the regular 6-sided sockets. It saved my butt my gripping the belt tensioner on my car perfectly, while I was applying almost all my body weight (a lot) on this socket and matching Husky ratchet. This socket is a great addition to my toolbox. It will handle many more types of bolts then a standard socket. This means I don’t need as many tools in my take-with tool box. That is a big plus.The socket is well made, and looks good with the black coating and gold size. It makes the size stand out,. The knurl grip makes it fairly easy to use without a rachet. It also helps distinguish it from my inpact sockets at a glance. Handy when putting tools away after using both.

This set of 3/8 drive black sockets provide a better idea twist to the typical chrome socket sets. One of the advantages is the distinctive size markings that make it easier to identify a dark color socket, which could be more colorful. The second bright idea is the knurl groves that make it easier to grasp and rotate the round socket if the sockets get oily or greasy. These Husky Sockets are a great addition to my or any toolbox. The unique design fits many different fasteners, making them very versatile. The tapered knurled design facilitates spinning by hand. They have a great looking black finish, and the markings are laser etched for easy visibility. Like all Husky tools, they are covered by a lifetime guarantee, a great feature. I recently had to remove a square nut, (see picture) and these sockets worked perfectly!

These sockets seem very well built. The “knurl grip” really helps and is a nice feature. I really like the black tool line, you can easily read the size, and much harder to rust than other types. They have a decent weight to them so I imagine they are fairly strong, and they bite very well without ripping up your bolt. (It’s really nice that they work on other, odd-ball shapes/sizes too).The price is less than Half of other tools, and the warranty, (while slightly varies store-to-store), is really quite exceptional!!! No matter the store, if it’s broke, worn, has a defect, whatever, it is exchanged without question or hassle unlike a rival company’s “household name chrome brand”! (I wish I had known I could trade those tools for Husky a while back, I assume as a promo). Even if you break a part that is only sold in sets they will at minimum open a set and hand you the replacement, depending on the store they might just exchange your used set for a brand new one!I was very hesitant to purchase due to the inexpensive price, and not made in the USA, (which I personally prefer), but the quality control is up there, and the warranty backs them up FULLY. They don’t break often or easily, especially this “universal style”, and they are very easy to use and work very well. I had an OLD Husky “stubby” kit/set (with the Red Handles) that I used to keep in the car, over time I broke 2 sockets, (my fault, I was in a pinch and used a reg socket and a pry bar). 1 cracked, the other broke in pieces. I went to H.D. years later with the set, showed them the broken socket and explained the 2nd socket broke in pieces and I didn’t have it. Without any questions, problems, or issues at all they told me to go grab a new set! That particular set was at least 10+ years old, and I can tell that the quality of Husky tools has only gotten much better! For over 25 years I had Always reached for tools from my Huge collection of a common USA made tool name; Not anymore! The quality I have seen/felt first hand using the Husky brand, (especially the Universal style), these are now what I reach for first! I only hope the price stays fairly low, and the warranty stays the same. Keep it up Husky, def have a customer here, and more coming as friends see what these tools can do! I highly recommend anyone who is curious to go buy a Socket (for less than $4) and compare to your normal/favorite. I believe you will be surprised! You can always return it. (And with the fairly low cost you can buy complete sets for what 2-3 sockets or wrenches cost)!!!

Excellent socket for the home garage or in my case, my emergency bag. As picking a 6 or 12 point socket for most applications in a task, this knurled socket takes that away. It grabs the nut or bolt wherever there is an angle and turns. I don’t know if I would use this for very high torque but it does a fantastic job for most ratchet tasks. Good coating on the socket will prevent rusting for some time. I like the etching and matte appearance. Looks nice and works well.

9/16 inch Knurl Grip Universal Socket with 3/8 drive. This socket is designed for impact wrenches which the 3/8 inch drive socket is designed for. With the new impact torque wrenches that now are in allot of drills and wireless tools available along with the old standard air tools. The hardened metal socket has a good profile for tight places a deep ridge socket for easy bolt application and grip. The knurled rim is great for starting or finishing removal by hand . One of the things I like is the printed size marker for easy identification. Though I’m wondering if it will be worn off by friction with lots of use. The main thing you need to know when buying a socket is how well the nut will fit into it. The Husky sockets have a very snug fit, providing good contact with the nut, and reducing the chance of slipping. These are 12 point sockets, which allows for easier or quicker contact with the nut. As an added bonus, the knurl grip is a great addition as you know if you have oily fingers and are trying to turn the socket by hand. Another plus for me is the large, laser etched numbering, which is extremely easy to read. And of course, they are guaranteed forever, and Home Depot has always stood behind the Husky line.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reached down into my engine bay, wedging my hand into an impossibly tight spot trying to hand turn a bolt enough that I only need to do the final tightening with a wrench. Invariably, the bolt is too awkward to get my fingers around or my hands are too oily to get a grip on a socket. The idea of a knurled socket is fantastic! Now, I can place the socket and just hand spin it down to where I have enough room for a wrench or until I can’t hand spin it anymore. Hand spinning the socket is ALWAYS faster than using a wrench. These sockets will save you time and help get you out of some tight spots. My only complaint is that the knurling isn’t really deep enough to get a good tight grip. I’d recommend deeper knurling and to extend the knurl all the way to the socket’s edge. My calloused fingers can handle it and I could then tighten that bolt by hand down pretty darn far!

This is a beautiful set of sockets. Really after all this time someone , Husky, has made a socket that is easy to read the size and looks new and clean all the time. Actually the feature of knurl grip is nice as these small sockets can be hard to grab but this makes it nice. Unusual to buy one socket, I have done it before. It is convenient to be able to buy just one if you have lost one. I like the finish, I like the rough knurls to grip the socket. I’m retired now but when I worked my employer supplied Husky tools and I never had them fail and I used to use them hard. Good to know these have a lifetime guarantee. The multiple gripping points allow the ratchet to start in tight places.

Alright… I admit that these aren’t Snap On or MAC Tool sockets but they are a HUGH step up from Craftsman! The Black Chrome Finish is awesome! I like that they have a knurled edge on them to help in tight spots. The labeling for both sets (SAE & Metric) were canted off center by 45 degrees or so. This was the only flaw I found. My Professional Tools are all dead on where the labeling of size is concerned. These fit multiple style heads & I found them to be more helpful than my specialized professional tool sockets. The Price between Professional & Everyday Joe Tools… Just say I bought a Top Tool Chest with the money I saved. (Maybe that was Home Depot’s Plan all along… Hmmmm…) The Husky Tool line is outstanding & are quality units without breaking the Bank. Perfect for Home Garage or Home Work Shop!
