SUMMARYThis is not a replacement for a real socket set, but it is a high quality tool and a very nice compact kit.DETAILSI am highly impressed with this little kit. The gimbal itself and the bits are all very high quality. Warning, they do come coated in a light oil to prevent corrosion during their boatride over from China. It wipes right off. There is a hex to 1/4 in square adapter so that this gimbal can be used with any standard drive bits, including the assortment included.The sizes of sockets and bits included cover most standard applications.Keep in mind, this tool cannot generate nearly the torque that a wrench handle could. Especially if you do not have strong fingers. Its basically for those times when you can’t fit a wrench into the workspace and would be trying to turn a loose socket with your fingers or (worse) a pair of pliers. Another nice application for this kit is to leave it in a drawer in your kitchen, office, or car. Since it includes bits for the most common sizes, its a handy little kit to have around in places where you don’t keep a full set of tools. The whole kit is so compact (5″ x 7.5″ x 1.5″) that it can easily tuck into a drawer.

This is one of the tools that will probably get seldom used but when you do need it you will be thankful you have one in the tool chest.These gimbal palm ratchets are made for those tight jobs that will just not allow a traditional ratchet to reach. Keep in mind these tools are made for those one-off situations and you need a strong hand/wrist to generate the needed torque but again in tights spots you have few options and this will provide a solution in most circumstances.The gimbal itself seems well made and with the pivot you can pretty much catch any needed angle. In addition, the 100 tooth design ensures you are making progress even with minor hand movements. It’s also easy to flip directions with one hand on the tool. It’s really a pretty cleverly designed tool. I’m happy to have one.I recommend.

This set looks very well made and solid. It feels strong, heavy and solid.The gimbal allows the drive shaft to be turned at strange angles making it easier to get at hard to reach fasteners. The sockets and drivers can be used with, or without, the 3″ extension.The sockets have 12 teeth which provides great flexibility in getting them onto nuts. In addition the ratchet in the gimbal has 100 positions. This means that once you get the fastener engaged, almost any rotation space can be used to turn the fastener. This is critical in inaccessible places.The sockets have their sizes painted on the side in gold.You get 6 metric and 6 SAE sockets.You also get 10 assorted screwdriver bits which bumps up the pieces count. (We could do without yet another 3 Torx bits and 2 more flat screwdriver tips!)The plastic box is strong and solid and holds everything in place well.Made in China.Guaranteed forever!
