I love this set. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it was missing a few things. I went into the store for assistance. They said I would have to return the whole set and order another one. Return 165 pounds of tools because I was missing 3 sockets and a screwdriver. So stupid.

Decent set of tools. Would be better if all sizes came with wrenches and sockets, instead of skipping over a few.

Very complete set there are only one or two minor issues with some sockets missing 16mm but really minor.Being a mechanic I get a little critical . If you want to become a home mechanic or even a shop tech this is the best set for you

This is the Husky 605 piece mechanics tool set (model H605MTS). The set comes packed nicely and it’s shipped on a mini-pallet (see Photo 1). Inside the outer box is an inner box, and inside that is four separate boxes containing the tools (see Photo 2). Photo 3 shows all the bags of tools spread out. This is a monster set of tools (over 100 lbs worth). It took me the better part of a day to just check that everything was there (I printed out the full list of tools from the Home Depot website—no docs come with the set). Because you can get the complete list of tools online, I’ll just mention a few items that I was particularly glad were included—items a weekend mechanic usually doesn’t have, but when you need them, you’re really glad you have them: Tamper-proof TORX sockets and bits (also a Magnetic, 9-piece Tamper Proof TORX L-Key set), SAE and Metric stubby wrenches, trailer hitch wrench (1 1/8” and 1 1/2”), and midget SAE and Metric wrenches. My biggest complaint is that there is no differentiation (such as a color ring) between metric and SAE sockets—everything has a chrome finish with “hard stamped” markings. And the markings are difficult to read (see Photo 4). However, the screw drivers are differentiated (blue= Phillips, red= flat, see Photo 5). An attempt was made to differentiate the hex keys, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why someone thought using black and gray was a good idea (in a dark tool bag/box, it’ll be hard to tell which is which—see Photo 6). Lots of sockets today have laser etched markings to make them easy to ready—even Home Depot’s Husky brand has some sockets with etched markings. So I struggled on whether or not to take off a star for this. In the end I decided not to because you should be aware of what you’re buying before you hand over your cash. If etched markings are important to you, don’t buy this set—look for a set with etched markings.I tried many of the metric sockets and wrenches on my Subaru, and everything fit nicely onto their respective nuts/bolts. The ratchets had a smooth, positive feel. The screwdrivers felt very sturdy. I was particularly pleased with how the Phillips screwdrivers “bit” into the various screws I tried. The flat screwdrivers have textured ends that help them grip screws. Something to note is, while you do get some socket rails with the kit, no other storage is provided—everything comes in plastic bags inside a cardboard box. In addition, there are not enough socket rails for all the included sockets. Overall, I think quality of the set is excellent and it comes with Husky’s Lifetime Warranty (no receipt required).

Very nice set- great assortment of deep well and shallow sockets for SAE and MM; wrench assortment for both is great. Overall meets my expectation. Missing- a few hammers, chisel and punches.Purchases as a spare unit, along w/new tool box for new mechanic being hired that doesn’t have any tools to start with!!

I’ve used Husky tools since 1998, I love them. Wrenches are comfortable, and all in all they make a great tool…

It was fine I was disappointed that no pliers or channel locks came with it.Could also use a lot more socket holders with it

Buying this tool set was definitely worth every penny!!! at $1,599.00 before tax and shipping, each tool comes out to $ 1.56 each. Best of all, it has a lifetime warranty.

Started using these tools shortly after I got them and wow I am impressed. Very good quality. I’m not a mechanic but I do a lot of my own work and even help out family members. This set has everything I need and probably more than I need but I’m glad I pulled the trigger and did it.

I bought this set and thought that I was missing a few sockets. I called the 800 Home Depot number. After explaining the situation, they put me on hold and called the supplier directly! I was able to find out that HD had an older version of the parts manifest included on their web site. The supplier emailed me an updated list. Once I compared the old and new lists, I was able to verify that I did actually have all of the parts! I was lucky and got a helpful person the first time, but like anything else, you might get someone not so helpful. Just hang up and call back until you do. It’s a great set.

I have had this for about 3 weeks and am still trying to organize my tool box. This is a lot of tools. It comes on a small crate but it can be unpacked with the smaller boxes to put it into your vehicle if you don’t have a truck. I like the variety of tools it offers and it should cover 99% of my needs. All the tools were in good shape except one screwdriver had a chip in the tip. I haven’t tried to exchange it yet. It is a robust tool set. The only thing I wish it had was more organizers for the sockets and organizers for the wrenches. I have been buying those separately. The socket organizers that come with it don’t match the quantities of socket sets evenly. If HD did this I would give it five stars.
