I have been using ratchet wrenches to repair cars for about 60 years, foreign and domestic, Asian and European. There are some features of this set that I like, and some not so much. I do like the very fine pitch (144 tooth) of the 3/8 inch drive and ¼ inch drive ratchet handles that allows a very small arc of the handle to turn the socket which makes them very useful in tight spaces. The handles are sturdy and well balanced. There is a good assortment of the most used sockets, including 10 mm, 12 mm and 13 mm. The obvious exception is that the set is missing a commonly used 19 mm socket. The largest metric socket is 17 mm. The most used extensions are included. I do like the ¼ inch drive hex wrench set, that us not commonly found in most sets. The carrying case is sturdy and has four locking latches, although most mechanics will store the set in a toolbox.The major complaint I have is that the size of the sockets is either not well stamped into the metal or is missing completely. This is a serious quality issue and I’m very surprised this issue exists in any modern set. Spending time looking for the correct socket when trying to complete a job will frustrate anyone using these sockets, so much so that I nearly did not recommend this set. Other manufacturers have used very innovative marking methods and Husky needs to get on board with this.

In my opinion the best part of the husky tools is the lifetime warranty and ease of using that warranty, sure there’s alot of tools with warranty now but I like that I can go to any Home Depot store if there was a problem and have the warranty honored on the spot , I have had to do it and even with a worn 20 yr old tool the store honored the warranty. So this set comes with all the basics. The ratchets have the 144 tooth positions that’s a must have for getting into tight spaces and saves the knuckles and a lot of cursing. I do like that all the pieces are deeply etched and well organized. And since the country of origin seems to be such a concern lately – the Husky ratchets, extensions and adapters made in Taiwan, sockets made in China. I don’t care where there made since the store stands behind the product. The case is well made and holds all the set well but hang onto that foam insert because the bit sockets will come out of place without it.

A complete 3/8 socket set just as described. A set like this makes it very convenient to use at a job. All the tools are easily accountable. The sockets and tools all wedge in their respective locations where they will not fall out. Almost a little to tight to pull them out but that might relax over time. Case itself is a classic husky rugged style. Very happy with the quality and quantity of tools included.

What’s not to like…SAE and Metric sockets, 1/4″ and 3/8″ ratchets and sockets, standard and deep well sockets, Lifetime Warranty, and a pretty nice case to store everything in.Having this 75-piece mechanics tool set pretty much solves the problem of not having the right socket. I’m really glad to have this set, as it replaced all my worn out knuckle buster sockets I’ve been holding unto forever!The fact that this set carries a Lifetime Warranty means no more worn out sockets for me.I absolutely love the fantastic assortment of sizes, and the overall high quality is very satisfying.I love this set and highly recommend it.

Lets start off with the case. How many times have you accidentally opened your tool kit upside down and dumped all of your tools out? This will never happen again with this tool box as all tools are secure and you can only open up your box one way.All of the tools wrenches sockets extenders etc all are very nice quality. I already this weekend helped a friend change out a battery with these tools. They are my new go to set in my car and came in handy the very first day I had them! The Huskey 75 pc. Mechanics tool set is a decent set of all-around tools but is stretching the mechanics title a bit. This set contains all 6-point sockets, shallow and deep, metric and imperial, ¼ and 3/8” drive all equally divided in size ranges. The Imperial ¼ drive range goes from 3/16” to 9/16” shallow and 11/32” to 9/16” deep. On the ¼” metric side the shallow sockets range from 4 to 14mm and 8 to 13mm for the deep well. Staying on ¼” drive that are 4 imperial nut drivers bits (Allen) from 7/64” to 5/32” and 4 metric nut driver bits (Allen) from 3-6mm in size. One ¼” 3” long extension and one quick release ratchet. The center button on the ratchet depresses the locking ball on the driver allowing for easy removal of the socket. The 3/8” drive shallow imperial sockets go from 7/16” to 15/16” and 5/8” to 7/8” on the deep. For metric it is 10 to 18 shallow and 14 to 19mm deep. The 3/8” ratchet has same quick release button and the set has two extensions, 3” and 6”. There is a ¼” to 3/8” and 3/8” to ¼” adapters. Things I like. The large stamped size markings make locating the correct socket very easy. The chrome finish is well done and complete. The chromium-vanadium material used will give long life to the sockets. The quick release on the ratchets is great for one handed operation. The carry case is great of storage and transportation and keeping track of all the sockets. Things I do not like. The 3/8” drive ratchet is huge, I mean way too long (8 ¾” long) and gives the user too much leverage. The chances of the user wringing a fastener off is very good. While 6-point sockets give a better grip, a 12 point allows you to get onto a fastener easier and is perfectly acceptable 90% of the time. I think this toolset is a good addition for any DIY’er as it covers pretty much everything, but this is not a professional tool set. Good quality, good selection, great carry case, bad (too long) 3/8” ratchet. Recommended.
