The HUSKY 1/2″ SWIVEL MAGNET SOCKET RAIL is a terrific space saving, organizational piece of equipment. The hard plastic construction made me question its ruggedness at first. But once my sockets were in place and I held the rail in my hand at one end to test the rail’s buoyancy it did not bend or bow. The magnetic strip embedded into the bottom of the rail is a great feature for storage in or on the side of your tool box, and for keeping the rail stationary on your automobile while you’re working under the hood. It also fits perfectly in the drawer of my tool box and will not slide around. However, I noticed that I could not fit all of my sockets in size order on the strip. I had to alternate the bigger and smaller sized sockets to properly fit them on the rail. Note: the display hang tag that is put on the rail by the manufacturer before it ships to the retailer can easily be removed with an ice pick instead of snipping the tiny teensy plastic locking tabs that keep it in place.

Husky ½” Swivel Magnetic Socket Rail Item # 1005 074 123I have numerous specialty sockets rolling around in either my tool box or tool cabinet drawers. They don’t usually come in sets with fancy rails to stay organized. I thought it would be worth checking out the Husky line of socket rails and discovered this family of swivel rails that have a magnetic base covered by a non-marring neoprene type covering. This rail appears ideal for keeping all those sockets in one place when working under the hood. The studs employ a spring-loaded ball bearing to retain the sockets in place on the rail. The ½” unit studs are color coded blue for easy identification. There are 14 studs on the rail. The studs rotate 360 degrees on the rail, and are able to be placed in desired positional spacing along the 14 inch length. It will accommodate standard, deep or swivel ½” sockets. I even placed my impact and ½ socket adaptors on this unit for trial. The only drawback I have with the design is that you are unable to insert additional studs on the rail.Country of origin Taiwan .

The rail comes with adapters for 1/2″ sockets. However, you cannot mount all the sockets from Husky’s 1/2″ sae socket set. The rail isn’t long enough and you can’t spread the adapter enough to fit them all. I would have thought they’d have tried out their own sockets.
