After failing to remove a battery hold down on Subaru Outback by using normal-depth 10 mm socket and by using pliers, this deep socket did the job.

Used this to replace spark plugs on my 09 corolla. This is cheaper compare to other sockets for my need. However, I had to put some rubber material inside the socket so the plugs stick inside and not fall out when installing/removing them.

Worked perfectly. I needed something to swap out my spark plug in my Echo weed wacker and this did the job.

These 3/8 in. Drive 6-Point Standard Sockets (22 SAE and Metric sizes) from Husky are really very good high quality sockets. I own several different Husky socket sets, both in standard and deep well. Husky’s sockets have always been very high quality and have worked well. The reason for only four stars is they did not come with any type of socket racks. All my other Husky sockets has come with one.

No complaints. Simple 10mm, deep socket. I own a toyota so I use this 10mm all the time. Having a deep socket gives me more flexibility when working on my car. Husky is owned by HD so they offer a lifetime warranty should anything happen, but I’m not abusing it or anything. It is not impact ready so only use it by hand.

This review is about the 13-piece Husky 3/8 drive mixed deep socket set. I am not a mechanic nor one that has to use a deep socket more than the occasional time so I never wanted to spend the money for one of the high price sets. However, Husky tools are fine for the homeowner or DIY who wants a quality tool for a reasonable price. I already own two sets of Husky screwdrivers and two sets of Husky open ended and box wrenches and found Husky tools to be more than adequate for use around the house. This deep socket set is composed of sockets only so it is intended for the person already owning a 3/8 driver. For those not owning a 3/8 drive, I recommend buying one of the several Husky sets that combine driver, sockets, and convenient holder. Several times I have needed a deep socket but had to settle for wrestling with the bolt with an opened ended wrench that made the job more difficult than it should have been and resulted in more nicked knuckles than I wanted. This deep socket set is a mixed one with both SAE (inches) and MM (metric) sizes all designed with a 6-point contact. For my use the selection of sizes is appropriate. Five sockets are SAE – 7/16″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 11/16″, 3/4″ – the most common of SAE sizes. Eight sockets – 9MM, 11MM, 12MM, 13MM, 14MM, 17MM, 19MM – the most common of metric sizes. The 6 contact point design assures a good fit between the nut and the socket thus eliminating the nut “stripping” that can result from an ill-fitting socket. All thirteen sockets are chromed finished and etched with the socket size. I found the etching to be easy to read; in fact, much easier to read than some of the other sockets on my workbench. The sockets fit easily and securely on my 3/8 driver that just happens to be made by a different manufacturer so I would not hesitate to recommend this set for owners of a different branded driver. I had experienced no difficulty getting the sockets on and off the driver. Although I have not had an occasion to use them to remove a real stubborn nut, the sockets appear sufficiently sturdy to do the job. For my use I except them to last a very long time.

The Husky Tool forever guarantee is for real! Their website states if a Husky Tool breaks they will give you a brand new one. This applies to these sockets. So far they have performed excellently and feel very well made. The set is complete and will meet most any need. The only negative I found (is why only gave 4 stars) was that the set came in individually wrapped sockets without a case of any kind so buy a toolbox or some sort of holding case if you don’t have one.

Nothing wrong with Husky tools, other than being imported. The sockets, wrenches etc are well built.
