The Husky 3/8 in. drive Thin Wall Impact socket set features a 6-point design. These sockets are up to 2-times stronger than standard chrome sockets and 20% slimmer than impact sockets. This socket set can be used with a standard ratchet or with your cordless impact tools, removing the need for 2 sets of sockets.

The thin wall design made a normally hard area to work easier. A regular socket would not quite fit over the bolt head on a water pump I was changing but these worked with no problem.

I used this set to remove some stubborn bolts from a rusty exhaust manifold. Although I still sheared off a couple of bolts, it was because I set the impact drill at too high a speed. Once I dropped down to the recommended “lowest speed”, the rest came off w/out a hitch. I recommend that if you are using these sockets on rusty bolts, you may want to prep the bolts w/WD-40 before hand. Makes a world of difference!

I own my own business as a tool resale company. I normally stick to what I know when it comes to tools, just because I know what works for me and what has not in the past. However, these thin walled impact sockets have proven my theory of what was once bad will always be bad right out of the water. Husky has really stepped up their game with these. And I look forward to trying more products in their line. I wouldn’t even mind maybe carrying some of their tools in my truck… But hey a guy can dream right. Definitely blowing my TEKTON 3/8 impact sockets out of the water on this one. These Husky fit in places my others don’t. Thank you Husky for a great product and Home Depot for carrying such a determined and reputable brand.

Overall quality very good. However I cannot give it a 5-Star rating because I use a Milwaukee M18 3/8′ Impact driver and these sockets will NOT stay on. They fall off on every use unless the hold the me on. The is VERY annoying when working on a ladder, as the fall off, requiring you to climb down and retrieve the socket (that is IF you can find it).This does NOT happen if Milwaukee brand 3/8-drive impact sockets are used.IF you using a Milwaukee driver (or other brand with a retaining ring on the end of the square drive) I cannot recommend the Husky sockets

These are just as good or even better than my craftsman and kobalt ratchet wrenches. They are durable and hold a grip, even on rusted bolts. I like how home depot and husky have a lifetime warranty on this product as well as all their husky tools. Only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is they don’t reverse. Great set to have in the tool box.
