Ever run into one of those fasteners that aren’t like a Phillips or Slotted screw head? Yep, it’s probably a torx bit, one of the most evil inventions ever foisted on mankind to this day. If you’ve ever run into one of these and you just HAD to get a project done, you know how frustrating it can be to not have the right shaped fitting. No, sticking a screwdriver in and hoping it catches just isn’t going to cut it, especially if it’s a tight fit. This Torx Bit Socket Set from Husky has you covered. Not only does it have the male torx drivers (4mm-10mm), but it also has the complementary set of female sockets (T8, T9, T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, and T30), which I have heretofore not run into yet, but I knew that I someday would if I did not buy the complete set. And of course it would be at 11pm on a saturday night when I can’t get to a store to get one. You will need a 1/4″ socket driver or 1/4″ adaptor if your socket driver is 3/8″ (as most are) or 1/2″. I got the Husky extension adaptor set just for this purpose. I wanted to be able to use them in my cordless drill. The torx bit set includes a plastic storage rail that seems to hold the bits well. The set also comes with the Husky lifetime warranty, so life is good!

These are good, they’ll do what you need, however I got these because the picture showed the Torx Security bits.

Just what I have always looked for a 1/4 drive set. Always they have the 3/8 drive set but that’s too much torque on the small sizes.

We use 5,4, and6 Allen’s to build bike racks all day these tools are used all day every day and they hardly ever break. These are definitely worth more value than what they are charging.

This is an excellent 1/4 in. Drive SAE Hex Bit Socket Set. There are 8 pieces, including a nice holder strip, so they don’t roll around loose in my toolbox. They seem to be well made, very heavy and solid construction. You have a good assortment of bits to use depending upon the project you have in mind. Now I won’t have to drive twenty or thirty miles to a hardware store when I need a particular bit.

These Metric ¼” drive torx sockets are great. The chrome is sturdy and not flaky. The tips are chamfered to make them easy to position. The flutes and cuts are straight and accurate so they grip fasteners well. They lock onto whatever ¼” drive tool or accessory that I have. The plastic rail is handy for storage. These sockets live on the rail in a drawer in my toolbox. The plastic rail doesn’t hold very securely, but it’s a nice way to know if I have any sockets that are absent. I recommend this set. It even has the female torx sockets. If you encounter these fasteners, (often times on seats in foreign cars) these sockets are the correct tool for the job.

I used it for some periodic maintenance on my VW Jetta. The right tool at the right price and, considering the service price that the VW dealer charges for any minor maintenance, I saved hundreds of dollars.

Bicycles often have different sized hex head fasteners. Where a steel or titanium hex bolt screws into aluminum one has to be especially careful to follow factory recommended torque settings. It would be easy to ruin an expensive component by over tightening. I use a 1/4” drive torque wrench on smaller stuff so these hex sockets are a necessity. Quality and appearance are excellent. I recommend them.

husky tools are usually decent for the price and these follow suit. the times you’ll need a socket head torx over a a regular T-handle or right angle key type wont be often but when you need it you need it. quarter inch drive allows you to have a smaller wrench set up for better reach in tight spots and you have better leverage for stubborn fasteners. and of course a racheting mechanism for speedy removal. the included socket keeper is a nice touch. helps keep your tool box tidy.
