The gap between the firewall and engine was the length of a standard rachet and socket and the shape of the bracket prevented the use of a standard wrench. I was looking for a low profile socket, but this did the job better, due to the pass through and was required for another bolt.

We set a lot of ceiling bolts and wedge anchor’s/expansion shields at our company, so this tool is vital.

Sockets can get twisted on nuts, essentially locking them on a d that causes the socket to release from the ratchet.

Used this mounting antennas with u bolts ,cut the job in less then the time it normally took. Using the extension is fabilious. If you intend to buy a regular socket set don’t waste your money on any other.

I wanted to get a 6 point pass through socket set. I originally wanted to get the Husky tools simply due to the ease of replacing them if something fails .. similar to the way Sears used to deal with tools before they went out of business. As this set has a lifetime warranty, if they fail, they’ll go back to the store. Online it showed one of our HDs had many 6-point sets and no universal sets. So I went to that HD, grabbed a set and went home. I didn’t pay attention and it wasn’t until I got home that I noticed it wasn’t a 6 point set but the universal set. To me, a universal socket is nothing more than a tool that’s mediocre at every fitting. Too easy to round off the fittings. I don’t care about square fittings and the like. I want the 6 sided nut to move. Upon returning to the store, I found the 6 point set item number was actually on the universal sets and they had no 6 point sets .. they were misidentified by the manufacturer on the packaging. The store manager stated he was going to contact headquarters to make them aware of the error. They only had the incorrectly marked universal sets at that HD. However, I was able to find one correct 6 point set at our other HD store. I got it home and removed the tools from the display holder. With all the people who have returned this set because it was too hard to remove the tools .. maybe that’s an indication that they shouldn’t be buying these tools. It was fairly easy to remove the tools. It took a pair of needle nose pliers to pinch the retainers for the sockets on the back while pulling them out from the front and they came out with no problem. As for the ratchet and the expansion, you simply have to remove the black u-clip with a small screwdriver or an awl (pry it up and out) and the retainer slides right out. Easy peasy. (See the attached picture.) The tools seem to be an okay quality. Nothing to write home about. They aren’t an overpriced budget line Snap-on set, but they’ll hopefully do what they need to do. I was wondering how I was going to store these, but I was able to create a magnetic rail to hold them, so that took care of the storage question. Two things to point out. The wire that retains the sockets in the ratchet may get loose with use, but it looks easy enough to remove the wire, bend it to a slightly tighter circle again and put it back into the ratchet. The other thing to point out is the bit adapter and bits are fairly useless. That just brings the set number higher to attract the buyer who wants “more”. I don’t see that’s a better option than a regular bit socket and ratchet. They just takes up space in the chest.

This 3/8 in. Drive Universal Pass-Thru Set is a must have tool. Works wonders keeps from having to use multiple tools to do one job. Highly recommend for those long bolts that you could not do with regular sockets. Great tool!
