The Husky HD18GLCN Pneumatic 18-Gauge 1-3/4 in. L-Cleat Flooring Nailer is built for the installation of tongue and groove flooring, and is specifically designed for dense wood applications such as stranded bamboo, teak, cherry, and other exotic hardwoods. This air powered flooring nailer is compatible with 18-Gauge L-cleats from 1-1/4 in. to 1-3/4 in. The thinner L-cleats are less likely to split the tongue on engineered flooring and allow for easier penetration when installing higher density wood flooring. An adjustable front foot and 3 interchangeable base plates allow you to work on 3/8 in. to 3/4 in. flooring, and a swivel fitting provides hassle free mobility. Constructed of lightweight aluminum with durable heat-treated steel parts, this rugged pneumatic tool is easy to use for long shifts and is built to last. An ergonomically designed handle and a light strike bumper help reduce user fatigue. A no mar foot prevents damage to finished flooring surfaces and ensures professional results for DIYers at home as well as construction contractors at the job site. The Pneumatic 18-Gauge 1-3/4 in. The nailer is good. I use the 16g and liked how they last. The rubber on handle will give eventually but other then that they are nice nailers for the very good price..

My one complaint about this nailer is the way the plates line up with the hardwood floor. I laid down 3/4 Oak. I noticed that i was sending come nails on top of the wood instead on top of the tongue.I was using the 3/4 plates but it catches on a different part of the nailer. This was mainly MY FAULT but once you get going in a nice rhythm it is hard to pay attention. Other than that it was a very smooth nailer. I also used this on my hand scraped Bamboo. The 18 gauge was great for this. Flew right through the bamboo. You can give it a nice hit with the mallet (included).

I found this at my local store for $75.00 . I used it for about 800 sq. ft of 3/4″ hickory. The nailer performed flawlessly. As another reviewer mentioned, it is possible to drive cleats into the surface of the wood as the nailer may catch the tongue when not aligned properly. This was completely my fault, I wasn’t used to the nailer. It is clearly marked in red where the tongue should be aligned with the nail gun. The mallet was well balanced & felt good in hand. It was cheaper for me to buy this than rent a nailer for 48 hours. No regrets with my purchase. I will never use a manual nailer again!I was initially worried that the plastic plate would leave marks on the dark stained, prefinished hardwood floor I was installing, it never left any. When friend was racking flooring for me, I was able to fly through the open areas of my floor, no jams in just over 3,000 cleats.

Bought this nailer after reading online reviews and they are all spot on (except for the one guy’s jamming problems). I did 550 sqft of 3/8″ stranded bamboo with no problems. It did develop a slight air leak under the cap, but it didn’t affect the performance that I was able to notice. I called customer service after finishing the floor, and they are sending me a new nailer with a return label to send the old one back, no questions asked! This is the sort of customer service I honestly didn’t expect, but am pleased to have received!

I am a flooring professional, and I can honestly say that this nailer is just as good as my other nailers and cost half as much.I will be purchasing several more of these.

Easy to use straight from the box, easy set up, comes with nails, and not too heavy or bulky so it fit easily in my hands. I only had time to do a trial run with a small closet until we are ready to lay the entire wood floor down. But it worked great and I am I confident it will do a great job on our bigger project.Easy to read directions make it user friendly for a beginner like me. Works on 3/8 to 3/4 inch tongue and groove flooring.

I was adding hardwood to an entry area and short hallway. This tool was just what I need for the job. After doing these small rooms I feel pretty confident that I could do some larger square footage with this tool and it would do a great job.

Was one of the only nailer that would would with 3/8 inch hardwood. The only problem was that none of the stores carry the 18 gauge l shape nails. They had to be special ordered.
