The Husky 7-Piece Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set brings game-changing innovation to the world of bolt extraction. These sockets feature a tapered throat which allows for easy placement onto a fastener and ensures the fastener will not become lodged in the socket after removal. The sockets have a patented design that allows them to grip in both the left hand (Removal) and right hand (Installation) directions, this would allow for the reuse of a damaged fastener if needed.

The Husky SAE Dual Direction Extraction Set (7-Piece) is a great set for removing rounded over nuts or screws that a regular ratchet will not do, it works great on all the sizes that it comes with I would definitely recommend getting bigger sizes too.One thing I found is that the screws or bolts nuts etc. do not come off that easy so you can retread them back on a just a little and then remove them from socket. The additional 1/4 and 3/8 drive adapters also come in very handy when using a impact driver.

I received my Husky SAE dual-direction 7- piece extraction set today; this is a complete set with sizes from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch, the set comes with a 3/8- inch and 1/4-inch drivers. You can use power tools (impact gun) or hand tools which come in handy on the larger fasteners.Simple directions are included on the back of the package. I like this style of extractors because they are durable and less prone to slip, especially when you find a size extractor you can tap on the broken fastener with a hammer. Overall these are very handy to have on hand not only when working on cars or trucks but also when a lag screw breaks when working with wood projects.

This thing did the trick!!! I had a stubborn stripped 10mm on my truck that was on a weird angle that I couldn’t reach to well. I had doubts at first but was amazing it worked so well.

Husky extractors get the job done. I had a old bolt to remove that was covered by years and years of paint. I was able to chip some paint off, but it wouldn’t budge – the wrench and socket I tried just couldn’t get enough of a bite to work. I was about to drill it out when I can across Husky’s dual direction extractors. It grabbed on the first try and I was able to get the bolt out. I was so impressed that I also got their metric set.

This SAE dual direction extraction set is a great addition to my toolbox. I often work on older vehicles and an older home in humid south Florida weather where things corrode over time. This was a must get for me. It has simplified removing stripped or rusted out fasteners a whole lot. The set is meant to be use with an impact driver, which helps even more. The set includes a ¼” and 3/8” drivers. It also comes with an organizer. It’s a plastic piece that I think will wear overtime, but in the meantime it allows me to keep the sockets organized.

The Extraction socket was exactly what I needed. A bolt head was rounded over, in a location where I could not get a good grip on it with locking pliers. I found this set at Home depot, and within 5 minutes of arriving back home, I had the bolt removed. (4.5 of those minutes were opening the packaging, removing the socket from the kit, and then getting under my car. It took less than 5 seconds to loosen the bolt. I also like that the extraction socket works in both directions. This meant I could reuse the rounded bolt, as the socket would grab it to tighten it. I did not need to torque down on the bolt, so I don’t know if the socket could apply a lot of force tightening the rounded bolt, but I was at least able to tighten it enough for my needs.

This is an interesting product. It is made for fasteners with rounded corners that regular sockets will not work on. These fit the flats so they still will allow you to put torque on the fastener. I haven’t had the opportunity to try them yet. they seem like a good alternative to vise grips or a pipe wrench since they should not further damage the fastener.

This Husky 7-Piece Metric Dual Direction Extraction Set looks to be great. The set includes 5 SAE sockets (8mm to 14mm), and 2 impact adapters (1/4 and ½ in.), providing for use with pliers, wrench, ratchet, breaker bar, or impact driver. The unique design of the tapered throat allows for easy placement on and removal from a fastener. It also allows for use in both directions (including left-hand threaded), a feature not seen in other extraction tools. I sometimes run into a bolt or nut that has been rounded off, making it difficult to remove. While I don’t currently have any rounded bolts or nuts to use these sockets with. I did attempt to put a good nut with sharp points in one, and it would not go in, which showed me that these sockets will grip well with one that is rounded off. These sockets will be much better than the old vise-grip way, or other methods, of removing (or reinstalling) rounded fasteners.

Bought these to remove rusty exhaust manifold bolts / nuts that were in poor shape. Did not work as required on first attempt. Moved to disassembling exhaust. Same issue; no go. More heat, lots of work, finally got exhaust disassembled. Pulled heads with catalytic converter attached. Was very much ready to throw new sockets in trash and give them a 1-star review, but I did use them to remove exhaust manifold when heads were on work bench. So I did use them successfully. They beat vice grips, and I’ll likely use them again. But for the price, I think there are better options (maybe Irwin) if you can find them. They’ll stay in my toolbox, but I’m not gonna run out and buy the sae equivalent.

I purchased these in the store. Not online as the title of the email states. Otherwise all good. They work.

Husky Metric Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set This is a very well made chrome molybdenum steel extraction set. The socket sizes are clearly printed on each piece.I am very pleased with way these things work.I had a stuck bolt that came out without any issues when I used this set.The only thing I would like to see changed would be that they make a base with a spot for the drivers or I would gladly pay a bit extra to have a case or even a pouch so that all the pieces can be stored together. I know this set is going to give me years of great service and it comes with their life time warranty. So no worries there. I highly recommend this set.

This Husky SAE Dual Direction Extraction Set of 7 arrived in a padded plastic envelope. It includes 5 extraction sockets (1/2″, 7/16″, 3/8″, 5/16″, and 1/4″) and 2 impact adapters (1/4″ drive and 3/8″ drive). They are made of heavy-duty steel with black oxide coating and the sizes are marked. I like that they are bi-directional for both removing or tightening damaged or worn nuts and bolts. The square drive on the sockets allows for use with ratchet, wrenches, impact guns, or pliers. The 5 sockets snap onto a 1″ x 6″ plastic holder. It would have been nice to be able to also snap the 2 adapters onto the holder to keep them together during storage. Maybe I can find a pouch that these will fit into instead of using a baggie.I like that they grip the damaged fastener with no hammering needed. I also like that they have a full Lifetime Warranty – if it fails, your local store will replace it or you can call Husky.

These worked as expected removing soft rounded timing cover bolts. It would also be helpful to have these available without shoulders with adapters for different sized drivers.

Excellent design does great job on rusted extraction, but this is a specialty tool and likely low use.I really like the quality of this Husky extraction bit set. You can hear the superior heat treatment when you clack the sockets together. I also like that the socket size is printed on the side of the socket in a large easy to read font. The sides of the socket are tapered which grip a damaged or rusted bolt head. As you can see from the photo below a new bolt head just barely inserts. The idea is to grip the bolt tightly for removal. These are a special use tool that is indispensable when needed but not really for everyday use. Although it’s only $20 bucks (at the time of this review) it likely will be a low use tool. I also was disappointed that the two impact adapters are loose and do not attach to the socket racket, which means they are more likely to get misplaced. About my rating:5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B)3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C).2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D)1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F)

I’ve purchased items from the Husky brand before and have yet to be disappointed. These are no different. I tested these out on a table that had some loose legs on it. I really like the fact that these can be used manually or with a drill. They included two separate drill bits (1/4″ & 3/8″) for use with different types of drills. The thing that I really liked about these sockets is the rounded edges on the top. This will allow a tighter grip on rusted or worn bolts. I used an impact drill to tighten up the legs on my table and I didn’t experience any slipping and the fit was tight. They are also black oxide coated which should provide better resistance to corrosion or rust. These are a very good set of sockets and I definitely recommend them.
