The Husky 7-Piece Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set brings game-changing innovation to the world of bolt extraction. These sockets feature a tapered throat which allows for easy placement onto a fastener and ensures the fastener will not become lodged in the socket after removal. The sockets have a patented design that allows them to grip in both the left hand (Removal) and right hand (Installation) directions, this would allow for the reuse of a damaged fastener if needed.
- Set includes 7-pieces: 5 metric extraction sockets – 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm, 14 mm, 5 SAE extraction sockets – 1/4 in., 5/16 in., 3/8 in., 7/16 in., 1/2 in. and 2 impact adapters – 1/4 in. and 3/8 in. and 4 impact adapters 2-1/4 in. and 2-3/8 in.
- Tapered entry enables socket to easily seat on a damaged fastener, no hammering required
- Square drive with hex base for use with impact gun, ratchet, wrench or pliers
- Dual directional design for removing or tightening damaged fasteners
- Chrome molybdenum (CR-MO) steel for superior strength and durability
- Enables removal or reuse of damaged, rusted or corroded fasteners
- 10X longer impact life capacity versus competition
- 5X greater torque output

Excellent product! Great design and solid manufacturing. Not only does this socket have thin walls to access tight recessed bolts, but the design is such that it bites deep into the fasteners and holds tight. I used this set to remove some high torque nuts and it worked great.

Husky Metric Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set (7-Piece) uses a slightly tapered socket to use on damaged metric bolt ends. The walls are slightly larger on the end so when you place them on a bolt head they slip on and get traction as they are tapped down. Then use an impact drill to loosen and break the rust bond as the forces tighten with the socket. The sockets are made of Chrome Molybdenum steel and work with impact drivers or hand tools. They come in five metric sizes: 8-MM, 10-MM, 12-MM, 13-MM and, 14 MM. It includes two drive adapters, 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch sizes. No case, but it does include a plastic socket holder. I’ve come up against a lot of rusted or stripped bolts as a DIY mechanic. I remember using all kinds of specialty tools to get them out. This set is a big difference from an impact tool I first used that you hit with a hammer that twisted a regular socket end. It usually didn’t work on the tougher rusted bolt ends. I can see how this one will since it is pushed onto the bolt end giving a tight fitting.

Saved me from having to use a torch. Great for rusty bolts. Came in handy when removing bolts on a 20 year old truck leaf spring mount. I also had a situation with rusty toilet bolts and another time with rounded off break caliper bleeder. Overall these are a must have and make the job much easier and quicker without having to cut bolts. These are very high quality and the organization rail is very nice and easy to use.

Works as designed and is a handy extractor set for easily heavy corroded or rounded off fastener heads. Depending on size, extractor will be either a 3/8″ or 1/4″ drive size that can be used with either a ratchet of your choice, or can be used with the included long shank bit driver adapters. Works in both forward and reverse directions. Comes with a decent and durable oxide finish with laser size markings.

I cant wait to use this ,This is the Metric set and the sizes are 14 mm, 13 mm ,12mm, 10mm, 8mm, and also comes with 2 inpact extensions of 1/4 and 3/8 inches. They are coated with black oxide to prevent corrosion and or rust. These help you remove rusted or corrosive bolts alot easier. They have a tapered throat for easy and secure placement of the fastener or bolts,I reccomend that my friends need to check these out and they come in Metric and SAE.

Such an essential and useful set and it is so useful to have! This is an SAE set meaning non-metric bolts. It is for extracting bolts that are rated in fractions of inches such as 3/8 in for example. If a bolt head is worn, rounded, or otherwise damaged then these extractors “bite” into what is left for a head and provide either a tightening or removing torque. These are chrome molybdenum=suitable for high torque use (most likely won’t break under use) unlike regular chrome colored sockets. Although the extractors can be used with an impact gun, I prefer more of a feel I get from using a ratchet. Extracted bolts do not stay stuck. The great design precludes that. Inside the extractors, the bolt head can only go down so far so removal is easy. There are five sizes, clearly marked: 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16. 1/2. There are two extensions. The smaller one is for the 1/4 and 5/16 sizes, the larger one is for the rest. This is priced so affordably. The set has a lifetime warranty. It looks like it will stand up to use. Most times a damaged bolt is removed and a new one substituted but if the same bolt has to be used again in a pinch, it is nice to know this set has the dual action feature. The damaged bolt can be tightened again and in use until a new one is found. This set is a must for the tool box. Anyone who works with equipment, cars, or where there is a need to remove corroded bolts, knows what I am talking about. A great solution for removing corroded bolts or bolts with damaged heads. This is a great product. I recommend it.

The husky dual direction bolt/nut extractor are a very handy tool to have in your tool box. We have all ran into a bolt head or nut that is mangled or stripped out. That where this sockets come in, they have a bit design that grabs the item where ever it can and makes it some what easier to take out. The work excellent just remember to use some penetrating oil so you don’t snap the bolt off since you’re putting a lot of torque on them

Husky SAE Dual Direction Extraction Set (7-Piece) This set work great. Sockets are easily identified by the bold gold markings on each socket and when mounted properly on the socket retention bar so you can see all sizes clearly and easily. See photos below. This directional extractor set made easy work our of removing bolts out of a frame that suffered from years of corrosion. We used with a ¼ drive impact and several of the bolt’s heads rounded off previously with standard duty sockets. We tried the new directional extractors sockets and every bolt came out. One bolt the head did snap off. Put a little lubricant on each bolt’s exposed threads if possible then install theses extractor sockets on your ¼ drive impact and go to work. As with all Husky products they are lifetime hassle free warranty and easily replaced if breakage occurs at any Home Depot across the county. No receipt needed. IF your local store does not carry them go to Home Depot.com and have them shipped free to your store for pickup.

This Husky 7-Piece Dual Direction Extraction Set looks to be great. The set includes 5 SAE sockets (1/4 to 1/2 in., and 2 impact adapters (1/4 and ½ in.), providing for use with Pliers, wrench, ratchet, breaker bar, or impact driver. The unique design of the tapered throat allows for easy placement on and removal from a fastener. It also allows for use in both directions (including left-hand threaded) a feature not seen in other extraction tools. I sometimes run into a bolt or nut that has been rounded off, making it difficult to remove. While I don’t currently have any rounded bolts or nuts to use these sockets with. I did attempt to put a good nut with sharp points in one, and it would not go in, which showed me that these sockets will grip well with one that is rounded off. These sockets will be much better than the old vise-grip way, or other methods, of removing (or reinstalling) rounded fasteners.
