I would recommend the HUSKY 20 OZ. HICKORY STRAIGHT HAMMER for any construction. It’s a heavy weight hammer with a magnetic head. Easy to use and a great quality hammer. The HUSKY 20 OZ. HICKORY STRAIGHT HAMMER is durable and handle will not break with heavy use. The head is firmly attached and should last a lifetime of use. It was shipped from China.

I have used the similar fiberglass hammers in the past amd never really was impressed . Upon receiving this it really is a whole new world and far better hammer than the plexiglass handled ones of the same weight. The hammer has a great balance to it making it even quicker to really sink the nail in. Pretty strong magnet on top that holds the nails tight when starting them.

This is my new favorite hammer. The handle is very comfortable to hold and well balanced. The hickory does not transfer shock from impact and is smooth with no snags. The head has a built in magnet to hold a nail in place for a starter tap when working overhead or at weird positions. I never really saw a need for this feature but now that I have it I’ve found it to be very handle. I’m very impressed with the quality and feel of this hammer. If I had to say anything negative it would be that the tag was glued to the handle and left residue that had to be scrubbed off.

This is a nice hammer. I was skeptical of the the nail starter, but once I placed a nail in a tried it out I was confident it would work well. The hammer is well made. It is well balanced. The 20 oz hammer is a little heavier than what I would normally use, but it worked well for small trim nails I used for hanging aluminum capping for my soffits & eves. The handle is a good size and fits my hand well. There is a small indentation along the back of the handle for your thumb. The only thing I can say is a downfall is that the head of the hammer is very smooth and trying to retrieve the hammer from my belt holder with cloves on was a little tough as it slipped out of my hand. My holder is on the very back of my tool belt so it is a little awkward to begin with. The magnet that holds the nail to the head for the nail starter holds the nail securely. Overall I am very happy with this hammer and the Husky brand.

Well it is a hammer so there is not much to say other than it is a heavy duty hammer. We have not had it long so I can not comment on its longevity, however, I do not feel like it would break or the hammer head would fall off. I do not particularly care for wooden handles as the can split or what not but it is also less hard on ones hand I think other than blisters that can occur.

The main feature I LOVE about this hammer is the magnetic nail setter built into the hammer. Simply load your nail into the slot and tap to set it, gone are the days of smashing fingers while starting the nail. I also like the thumb rest further up the hammer to guide the setting of the nail. I also love the straight claw for pulling longer nails. I like the feel of the hickory handle and the overall weight isn’t too heavy but still does not take all day to dive longer nails. My one gripe was taking the tag off, some of the sticker stuck to the handle and took some time to clean off so it would not attract dirt.
