I thought I would save a few bucks by buying the plastic version of this bracket instead of the metal version – MB082SP. Big mistake! In the plastic version, the screw holes are not threaded and I had to apply considerable force to make the included screws bite. Also, the plastic version of the EZ-LOCK tab is stiff and hard to manipulate. Spend a few more dollars and buy the metal version – its practically effortless.

This thing seems to be made of steel on the outer bracket, nice material. Holes did not line up quite right with my 3.5 drive bay so I was only able to use 3 mount points, might just be my case but that worked OK. Mounting 7mm drives in this is fiddly, they give you little foam pads to stand off your drive so it fits snugly, I wouldn’t recommend it for 7mm drives, it’s really designed for 9.5mm drives. With the pads though it does work to click in the drives. When removing a drive, the springs are fairly strong and they kinda shoot the drive out of the slot, which wasn’t my cup of tea.

Item arrived early and works as advertised

Worked just fine except that I was only able to secure it with one screw due to my 3.5 bay configuration, not the fault of the adapter. Great price and fast shipping!
