TKO Hole Cutters offer the most efficient and clean cutter replacement for traditional knockouts, by making smooth holes in a fraction of the time at a fraction of the cost. Specifically designed to cut sheet metal, TKO cutters will even cut stainless steel with fine grained, carbide tips. The innovative design includes the exclusive SmoothStart replaceable pilot drill, which guides the cutter to the surface, avoiding cutter damage and providing smoother holes.
- Hole size 1-1/8 in.
- Integrated arbor provides solid rotation
- SmoothStart pilot drill prevents bit from “walking” on smooth surfaces
- Precision ground carbide teeth for fast cutting of clean, burr-free holes
- Designed specifically for sheet metal and stainless-steel
- Built-in over drill flange prevents penetration beyond the sheet metal
- Carbide tips cut up to 1/8 in. thick steel
- Ejection spring effortlessly ejects slug

Very nice all in one tool for making holes to take 3/4” pipe. It comes with a small Allen wrench to remove the center bit. This hole cutter has a diameter of 1⅛” so that it takes a ¾” pipe perfectly. The center drill bit is tapered so that one can get a nice small hole started, and then it makes that bigger before the outer teeth engage in the material. A spring around the inner bit ejects the cut out disk very effectively. (It goes flying off!)There is also a flange around the cutting diameter that prevents the tool from going too far through after the cut is finished. The carbide tipped teeth cut through the metal very well.Made in Taiwan

Works real good and still pretty sharp. The hole cutter worked out great and it cut the circles with not a lot of sharp burrs in the metal. It definitely feels well made of quality materials. I used it mostly on thin metals for some work for a mobile home. The pilot bit gets some pretty good bite to start and it didn’t dance around on me when starting. I really like the carbide teeth and how they cut right through. I went slow in every hole I cut so the bit wouldn’t get too hot and the carbide is still sharp. One thing I really liked was the spring on the pilot bit which pushes outward the cut out of the hole instead of risking getting cut trying to remove it. It still has slots just in case you do get a cut out stuck but that little spring will help get it out easier and safer.

A quick cost effective method for electrical tradesmen to make precision holes in sheet metal, including stainless steel, required for 3/4″ conduit fittings. Can also be used for softer metals such as brass and aluminum, and virtually all plastics. Not for use with granite, marble or other stone surfaces. Slow speed operation is a must… might be helpful to realize that this tool uses its carbide tipped teeth to “machine” its way through surfaces rather than “grind” its way through, the bottom line being a smooth perfectly shaped finished hole. Cutting oil is recommended.Meaningful features:* Drive arbor and cutting tool are machined from one piece for precision vibration free operation* Integrated flange prevents tool from plunging suddenly too far into panel to prevent accidental damage * Specially designed pilot drill bit (replaceable) prevents wobbling when first engaging material surface* Incorporated spring automatically ejects resulting slug saving time and frustration

I bought this to cut a hole in a plastic under bed storage bin for hydroponic use. My existing hole cutters destroyed the plastic so I wanted to try a better version. This is definitely the better version. It worked great. See pics to see a cracked one my existing dewalt hole cutter did and the non-cracked hole this hole cutter succeeded at. It is well made and very sharp. It cut instead of grabbed and tore!

This is a heavy duty hole cutter that can handle anything from sheet metal on up to 1/4″ steel. The large carbide cutting teeth have a slight V-shaped cutting edge that gives a nice clean cut with little or no burr on the breakout side of the cut. The center guide drill is has a stepped diameter like a true center drill that will not wander when starting your cut. Surrounding the center guide drill is a spring that ejects the plug from the cutter so you don’t have to dig it out when finished. I am definitely going to look into getting other sized cutters for future use.

The Ideal TKO carbide tipped hole cutter works well. The 1 1/8 (29mm) hole cutter cut through some red metal with ease while using a standard drill. It is designed to cut through stainless steel and other sheet metal up to 3/16” thick. The pilot drill helps maintain a precise cut. The overdrill flange (lip) keeps from over penetrating beyond the sheet metal. A nice product.

TKO 1-1/8 IN Carbide-Tipped Hole CutterA fantastic tool for electricians! The only question is “why didn’t I have one of these in my toolbox before?” This 1-1/8 inch cutter is great, will be buying other sizes. Quality material, works great, cuts are precise and much quicker than using the old method of a punch set. Go slow and easy using cutting oil and your hole is cut easily.

This is one cool cutting tool! I was needing a hole cutter that worked on both mild steel sheets, and stainless steel, both to bore holes for electric cables, and for water hoses to go through. Unfortunately, 1/2″ was the largest thing I had available to me that would cut through steel, and the thought of using a rat-tail file to make the holes large enough was just not going to work. This one has an adjustable depth centering bit, and that makes life much easier to get the hole started right where you need it to be!

This review is for the Ideal TKO 1 1/8 inch carbide tipped hole cutter. This hole cutter is designed to cut holes in sheet metal and will also work on stainless steel. It also has a pilot drill that can be replaced if it dulls or breaks. The pilot drill makes it easier to guide the cutter to the surface you are cutting. This is an improvement over having to drill a separate pilot hole. This cutter is designed to cut through sheet metal up to 3/16 of an inch thick but I have not cut anything of that thickness. So far I’ve only cut a thin piece of sheet metal but this made quick work of that. This seems to be a quality piece of equipment and I would definitely recommend it.

It is difficult to review some tools unless you use them for a while and compare them against other similar tools. This one is specifically for sheet metal, but don’t use it on duct work. Because if the spring, you must push aggressively and it ends up ripping the metal. See attached pictures. Thicker 15 gauge cuts ok, but took forever because it constantly binds and spins the drill out of your hands. If you can’t use this with either a magnetic drill or press, I don’t recommend it for hand use.
