I imagined 8 qts to be bigger. However, it is a nice pot with rack. I the stainless steel is a lighter gauge metal than I expected. I used it and it hold 12 mini corn on cob with space to spare. Cleans easily.

We eat lots of seafood and make tamales 3 times per year, so this steamer came in very handy. It steams the tamales well, cooking them thoroughly. The shrimp is also easy to steam, and we like the fact that it is stainless steel instead of aluminum. It holds lots of tamales and lots of shrimp, so we can cook in one pot instead the three pots we used to use, saving us time and gas. The pot and insert is easy to clean and dry, so the whole process of using the steamer is fast and easy.

Stainless Steel 8 Qt. Tamale & Seafood Steamer, we have had the stainless steel steamer for about 2 weeks now., We tried it out but we made stew, it is well make of good quality material, heavy but not to heavy should last a life time. The lid and handles have cushion to protect from heat when pouring off water. We would recommend this product to friends and it has meet all our expectations.

It is made of stainless steel with soft-touch top knob and soft- touch riveted handles. You can put the rack in first if you want to steam vegetables or tamales so they steam cook. If you want to make soup or stock, just remove the steam rack first. That makes this steamer very versatile. It has a glass lid with a steam vent. They also include a cooking booklet with ideas and recipes. You get recipes for tamales de huitlacoche, mussels provencal and tamales de mole amarillo. The two authentic tamale recipes are from Chef Aaron Sanchez. I really like the soft handles. Also, corn on the cob or lobster can be steamed in it. There is plenty of room in the 8 quart pot. You can see the food through the glass lid so you don’t have to lift the lid to check on it.

This is a great product for making smaller batches of tamales. Be aware if trying to make batches larger than ~20 tamales, the steamer rack will reduce space available.

Hot Tamale, not yet! Actually we have been using this stainless steel pot for a variety of cooking. 1st we steamed some shrimp – quick and easy! Next my wife started steaming vegetables – yummy! The stainless steel makes this a no fuss – no mess cooking situation. Just place enough water below the internal grate, place your items to steam on the grate, cover with the enclosed lid and bring to a boil! The pot is well made, glass top is sturdy and both the pot and the top have protection areas to avoid burns from heat or steam.Next – on to Tamales!

This is a really nice stock pot with an included rack that makes steaming easy. I love tamales, muscles, corn on the cob, lobster, and steamed veggies so this will get a lot of use. It’s really well constructed. Everything you touch (handles and the handle on the lid) is sturdy and solid. The pot heats up well and has an 8qt capacity. Perfect for my canning needs as well. Definitely recommended and a welcomed addition to the kitchen
