It is much lighter than most of iron cast wok, which is the main driver for the purchase. Its seasoned surface is somewhat fragile as I just started to use it. I hope after a year or also usage and careful care, it will mature to have nice natural grow of the iron cast without worrying too much about rusting. One thing I don’t like is the wok tends to generate more smoke than an iron cast pan I have when cooking. I am not sure it’s the specific product related or due to the shape of wok and therefore how heat conducts on surface. I tend to think it’s the latter. But don’t like that character.

Now I have two cast iron 14 in. woks, one that is old style cast iron, two hands to move and place on the stove and this one that’s lighter than my 10 in. fry pan. It’s very light, but don’t be fooled, it works just like my heavier one, needs the time to warm up properly for the full benefit of the wok. We cook almost any and everything in a wok, it’s better than a fry pan. We love fried rice, and stir-fry vegetables, we also do cut sausages with onions, fired chicken just to name a few, again name it, bake in it, roast, eggs the list goes on. Now it comes pre-seasoned, simply quick wash, I use only hot water for cleaning, dry and start wok cooking. I do love to cook and if caring for cast iron not your thing, skip cast iron as, it does take time to properly care for. Being cast iron it can be use with high heat on a stovetops, grills, burners and in the oven. Now for clean-up, right after removing the food I put a 1/4 c water in it and eat. After it gets a hot water wash with a brush and raised and dried, light coat of high quality oil and in the over for an hour on 175*, we not seasoning it, just oil and a good heat dry for prevent rush for one thing. Just how I do it, very, very rarely does a well maintained cast iron pan need re-season of care for. After the hour we let it cool inside the oven before storing with a paper towel folded inside to pick-up any extra oil during the storage time no matter short. Again, I will say if your looking for wash and ware, this is not it, but if you take care of it, your have the best none stick pan (properly seasoned) you every own for the best cooking every.

Excellent in both size and quality. Very durable finish. The metal handle is great for use in oven as well. Highly recommend if you love stir fry.

This wok is very nice and is of very good quality. It was well packaged and came with a strap around it that included use instructions as well as instructions on how to season it. It did come preseasoned, another big plus. There was a great recipe included as well. The only downfall to me was that even thought it is considered lightweight, it was still a bit on the heavy side. It was easy to cook with and I recommend it for sure as the quality was right up there.

IMUSA 14 in. Light Cast Iron Pre-Seasoned Wok with Helper HandleThis is my new favorite wok to have in the kitchen. You get the heating benefits of a cast iron without the bulk and weight. It already comes pre-seasoned so no need to season it. The pre-seasoning it came with has a very nice black color. With very little oil, this wok acts like totally non-stick. Great for sir-fry and fried rice.

As an Asian, this is good replacement for carbon steel 14 wok. The handler is metal instead of wood so it is easy to clean. The weight is ok to single handed. Since it is cast iron, it absorbs heat before cooking for better wok hey, as the regular cooking range is so powerless.

Solid cast iron material; non-stick if seasoned properly.
