Description
Create sharp reverse or direct prints with this 5-sheet pack of 8.5 x 11″ translucent Backlight Film from Inkpress Media. Made from a polyester film with an ultra white diffusing layer, this film has a matte printing surface and a glossy reverse surface, which can be used in many specialized applications such as mirror-type printing or use in illuminated frames. Also, the 7 mil film is instant drying and water resistant in addition to being light fast.

This product will be used to make transparent enlargements of digital files for contact printing. It is used with an ink jet printer, but only the dull side will work. Run as glossy paper and print on the dull side.

The product worked well with my Brother inkjet printer. The color saturation was good, even without enhancing the originals. Unfortunately, when I attempted to use a commercial operations color laser printer, the color saturation was not nearly as good.

Perhaps I never got the settings right on My Epson P800 printer but I was never able to get sufficient density and saturation to keep the print from being very washed out, especially when backlit. I used the recommended settings I received from Inkpress for my printer (with OEM Ultrachrome inks) – ICC profile for Epson 4880 and Premium Glossy Photo Paper – with the stated result. I have to say I got a quick friendly reply when I requested the settings. I tried playing with the image in Photoshop to get better results and tried different profiles and printer settings for the P800 but never got anything approaching the quality of the print on Epson Ultra Premium Photo paper. I found the paper print in the light box worked so well I didn’t pursue a better print on the Inkpress Backlight Film so perhaps it is possible.
