This 100-sheet pack of 4 x 6″ Luster Paper from Inkpress Media features resin-coated microporous paper with a luster surface finish. This paper has a basis weight of 240 gsm and a thickness of 10.4 mil as well as a 95% brightness. Additionally, the paper is water and light resistant for durability and instant drying for immediate handling.

I recently purchased 150 sheets of Photo Chrome RC Luster Paper (5×7) for a community college graduation ceremony. It was international students having there pictures taken with the president and a trustee of the school. I needed an inexpensive way to print them and so I decided to do them myself on my Epson 200 printer. The paper was fantastic and I will continue to use this paper for this type of job.

I use this paper quite a lot, not because it’s in any way exceptional, but because it’s just fine for doing first and second proof prints to see the printed effects of adjustments. It also has a pretty good pure white background and a pleasing luster, which I quite like, but it cannot meet the depth of tone of some other (and more expensive) papers. Also, I have experienced substantial batch variations on other Inkpress papers (not this one, however), so that I don’t fully trust their quality control overall (I’ve even gotten paper which was cut off square). For this reason, I would not recommend using their papers for exhibition or archival prints for which consistency across batches might be important.

I like this paper: good heft, sexy finish and works well with both pigment and dye inks. And, of course, it’s RC paper–essential for photographers wanting their prints to outlive them. Color appears true, but I’m not so sure than the paper might not benefit in some situations from being less white–portraits, for example.

So far, I believe that the Inkpress Luster paper performs comparably to the Epson Ultra Premium Luster paper that I use. I originally chose the Inkpress paper because I needed to print 11X17 photos, and Epson does not offer an 11X17 size in luster. Now that I have used this paper, I would consider substituting it for other sizes also. The one criteria that requires more time to test is outgassing. I won’t know how the Inkpress paper performs concerning outgassing until I have used the paper longer and put it behind glass in a frame.

Super great price on this Inkpress paper from B&H Photo. Always used Epson papers in all of my Epson printers, but heard about this and started using it. Beautiful colors and texture in the Luster paper. Works well straight out of the box, but I downloaded the ICC from their website for even better results. I started using the sized 8 x 10 and 11 x 14 for all of my clients prints now. Better profits, same quality prints.

I purchased this paper to make 11×14 prints to display in my new studio. I printed with a canon pixma 9500 and the profile from inkpress. The paper looks beautiful and prints are decent with the profile. I might have to experiment a little with the settings because colors arent dead on as compared to the same prints on the other major brand paper. The prints are a bit to contrasty with the profile that is provided by inkpress so that is why I gave it 4 stars. Overall I am very pleased with the paper and love that it is already sized at 11×14. I will be purchasing more but I will definitely experiment a little more to get the best print possible from the paper.
