Using a mould-made 100% cotton rag base reminiscent of traditional watercolor paper thanks to a rough texture, Fabriano Artistico Watercolor Rag from Innova will appeal to artists and photographers looking for a unique matte paper for their work. Available here as a 50-pack of 13 x 19″ sheets, this 310 gsm paper is an excellent choice for a variety of subjects. It also measures a very thick 22.2 mil and forgoes the use of optical brightening agents to maximize longevity. The paper is rated with a brightness of 97.3% and a whiteness of 86% and is both acid and lignin free.

As stated in previous reviews, the Innova Editions line of papers has a line-up of excellent papers that can be used to print virtually any image with fidelity, excellent Dmax, and great color separation. The Watercolor Rag is a more heavily textured paper than the Fabriano Printmaking Rag. I have used both of the Fabriano papers and have found them perfect for prints that I offer for sale and give as gifts. The Innova ICC profiles provide excellent results in the Epson P800. One suggestion for Innova would be to consider offering their Editions papers in 11×17. If one wants to use one of the Editions papers to print intermediate sized prints then one is forced to cut the 17×22 inch paper in half. Another suggestion would be to consider packing their papers in protective envelopes as Moab, Epson, and some other manufacturers do.
