The Core i7-10700 2.9 GHz Eight-Core LGA 1200 Processor from Intel has a base clock speed of 2.9 GHz and comes with features such as Intel Optane Memory support, Intel vPro, Intel Boot Guard, Intel VT-d virtualization technology for directed I/O, and Intel Hyper-Threading technology. With Intel Turbo Boost 3.0 and 2.0, the maximum turbo frequency this processor can achieve is 4.8 GHz. Additionally, this processor features 8 cores with 16 threads in an LGA 1200 socket, has 16MB of cache memory, and 16 PCIe lanes. Having 8 cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the 16 threads allow a basic ordered sequence of instructions to be passed through or processed by a single CPU core. This processor also supports 128GB of dual-channel 2933 MHz DDR4 RAM and utilizes 10th-generation technology.
Graphically, the Core i7-10700 uses the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 chipset, which has a base frequency of 350 MHz and a dynamic frequency of 1.2 GHz. A thermal solution is included and protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty.

I shopped around for the best price and B&H had everyone else beat. Plus I could have confidence that I was purchasing from a trusted source and 2-day shipping was free too. THANK YOU!

3 stars because I’m not too crazy about the new Intel LGA1200 pin and socket design which seems a bit flimsy compared to previous LGA pins used, but the resut is this is one FAST CPU. 8 cores = 16 threads ( 16 virtual core processors) great for gaming or video editing. The more CPU cores , the faster it will compile and render and convert. Add a NVME M2 and a good video card with a GPU and wow, it flies.. It’s pretty fast.

This chip puts out a lot power and stays pretty cool with AIO liquid cooling. When Intel started putting out higher core count chips (besides the xeon’s) they seemed to be difficult to keep in a good temp range. I was a little hesitant for that reason but the 10th gen chips seems to be a perfect balance of power and heat. Great processor!

A Jack of all trades. Unlock the power limits, bump up the base clock, and with the right board its a whole other animal.

I got the 10700 instead of the K version and I was able to overclock it to 4.8 GHZ with Cooler Master 212 heatsink.

went from 10400 to this and loving the extra speed while keeping the same lower temps.
