The 1TB 660P NVMe M.2 Internal SSD from Intel features QLC (Quad Level Cell) technology, which offers more capacity per NAND cell, enabling solid-state storage at more affordable price points. Moreover, it utilizes the PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 interface that has a higher bandwidth when compared to SATA for sequential read and write speeds of up to 1800 MB/s and 1800 MB/s respectively. With a M.2 2280 form factor, the Intel 660P SSD is compatible with a wide variety of notebooks, desktops, and mobile devices.

Good performance for the money and very reliable. Got this one as I wanted the extra storage and wasn’t disappointed.

The SSD came really fast, it works according to it’s specifications. I am pleased with my acquisition! GG B&H Shop

I consider my self the average joe six pack who just completed his 3rd machine. Therefore, upon completion of my limited research and watching all the hi tech gurus on y tube, the consensus of opinion was that the Itel 660p would be best for 80% of average users. Installation was super simple, just held at a 30 degree angle, matching the slots and a slight push, whamo! in it went. All I had to do next was push it down to the correct standoff and attach the screw. CAUTION! the hold down screw is super tiny, use a magnetic tip #1 phillips driver. As for performance, it is not a SAMSUNG EVO, but it is good enough for me. I uploaded some photos with results from crystal disc and windows own performance test, check em out. Boot up from start to desktop was 16.76 seconds, shut down, 3.42 sec. I also did a 63 gb file transfer from the internal mechanical HD to the Intel ssd in 6 min. and 30 secs. I am not a gammer, but the gurus say I should be able to play a lite duty game or two.

Great value for money

This is the least expensive drive of its kind that I know of.It comes from a name brand And I look forward to many years of reliable operation. It’s not as fast as some, but in real world operation not much different.Samsung & others can cost more than twice as much.I anticipate full support if I run into any issues since it’s from a name brand company. For now it’s great !!

Installation was easy and W10 immediately detected it without any issues. Read/write speeds are great and you can’t beat the value at this price point when compared to other drives / manufacturers. Definitely recommended for those looking to make the upgrade to SSD’s or, looking to add more capacity. It’s a solid drive and it doesn’t hurt my wallet as much.

I bought this to add a second M.2 2280 INTERNAL drive to a HP ZBook 15 G3 Laptop and it works perfectly without any installation issues.

Well worth the price

This is not the fastest SSD on the market, but for a games drive it’s perfect. Great load times with plenty of space for my library!
Sherman Satterfield (verified owner) –
I bought this for a gaming computer, I use it as my Windows booter, and it works great.

Put this SSD in a Orico enclosure. Fast and dependable and at a great price vs. the Samsung 970.
Juliet Barton (verified owner) –
This is a great value SSD that meets my storage needs. Compared to other options, I would choose this because of how much money you are saving that could be put into other PC components without skimping out in storage.

This may not be as fast as Samsung’s M.2 SSD’s, but the Intel 660P’s mix of price and performance makes it a far better value. Along with the 5 Year Warranty, it made this purchase a no brainer.

Got that while on a great offer, by far better than other retailers. No need of old HDDs anymore

Getting more speed than the rated speed

I have been saving money for a few months to buy a 2TB class solid state drive to replace my 2TB 7200rpm mechanical hard drive, and this is the one I chose because m.2 is tiny and can be used almost anywhere, and also because NVME blows everything else out of the water when it comes to raw speed. I have not noticed any issues so far and it has been a few weeks, it makes for an amazing game storage drive. Highly recommend

not top product as 970, but good enough Really enjoyed shopping on bhphoto. That’s my first time. But sorry for the inconvenience I caused by returning the other SSD of sata M.2 as I learned that this one runs way faster.

I purchased this to build a portable SSD drive using a Sabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs that I bought at the same time. It went into the Sabrent housing perfectly, the first time, and works great. Very fast. Excellent purchase.

Pros: -Price point for a 2 TB is great, even better this is NVMe and cheaper than most (all?) other 2 TB drives that are slower SATA! -Fast, but really all NVMe as fast. -Only has chips on one side which could prove usefull in tight laptop setups. -Intel SSD so it should be solid and their drives are known for. -5yr warranty, though that is becoming a bit of a standard any more. -Drive tests show better then spec results Cons: -Lower lifetime specs (TBW) than most other new drives (due to the new QLD) -Not as fast as the new hot drives running 3GB/s + -If doing large transfers (very large) you could outrun the buffer which results in slow transfer speeds. Very slow, HDD slow. First off this drive is a fantastic value buy. So is this drive for you? Well that depends on what you need. You can do a quick search out there for reviews and performance numbers (tested) for this drive compared to many others. Do your research and find what will work for you. As for my observations and findings… A few thoughts of the main components that may be of issue: -Faster than SATA SSD for less? Yes please. -Is it the best drive out there for performance? Absolutely not. -Is the expected drive life (TBW) lower than most other (new) drives out there? Yes. -Should you buy this drive? Probably – if youre here looking for an SSD its close to impossible to beat the price to performance and size of this drive. -Do I recommend this drive? If you dont need the fastest or longest lasting drive in the world, then yes I do. This drive is more than sufficient for 99% of users and use cases. For those I dont think this drive is for (this is a tiny fraction of use cases): -Those doing massive amounts of writes per day. This drive would theoretically wear out faster than many of the other new drives. -Those doing large file transfers or large file edits. This drive gets slow (check testing reviews of this drive (or 1TB drive for examples). These as most other NVMe drives use a faster cache to get these great speeds. For this drive the cache at 280 GB is larger than my main drive and is not something that in normal situations anyone would ever outrun. For the 660P 1 TB it is 140 GB and the 512 is 76. As the drives fill up the cache decreases giving less buffer to keep the fast speeds up for long periods of time. Sounds bad, but in most situation this will not be an issue on the larger drives, especially the 2 TB drive. -Those who have to have the best (i.e. fastest) equipment out there and wont be happy with anything less. This isnt a 3 GB/s+ r/wr drive so if you have to have one of those look elsewhere. In reality this drive is plenty fast for just about any need and you are not likely to notice any difference between most of the new NVMe drives in everyday use. For the specs I have attached some screen shots of a bench mark for and old Intel 730 SSD 240GB (SATA) and the new 660P 2TB (NVMe). as you can see the 660P is anywhere from around 2 times the speed to over 3 times the speed. You can also see that the read spead on the 660P actually beats the listed speed – the IOPS also topped out around 250K for read and 235K for write which is better than the 220K listed by intel. So for 99% of people out there, yes you should probably get this drive if you want some NVMe goodness. Its plenty fast, has ample space and a price point that cant be beat.
