I’ve had Heavy duty singer and strong and tough brother, they are NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING GOOD as the Janome 709 sewist. The sewist 709 is a strong heavy machine. You can feel the power of the motor when sewing. I just love my Janome sewist 709

I have sewed since middle school, beginning with a wonderful ancient Kenmore which I finally had to replace. I chose a heavy duty Singer (5532). After 8 years, much frustration and search I settled on the Janome 709. I wanted a non computer, heavy body, reliable, user friendly machine that produced a beautiful stitch. The 709 has excelled in every category. I am happy sewing for the first time in many years.
