At the time I bought this (mid-March), Home Depot had these in stock and with better delivery times than anyone else. Now, I assume they’re slammed on all these sorts of things.The machine itself is good, a serviceable and solid sewing machine. I’m using it to make masks with initially. It has a number of nice features for the novice sewer, particularly the thread cutter and the automatic needle-threading mechanism. One small criticism is that the black case makes it nearly impossible to see black thread, and I have on more than one occasion had the thread slip the needle and then get tangled inside the unit, requiring the removal of the top and cleaning out the insides. Now that I know how to prevent that, this isn’t much of a worry. Overall, recommended.

I recommend the Janome HD 1000 black industrial grade sewing machine.My wife enjoys sewing and was considering getting a second machine. She was impressed by the speed, easy to use tension control, stitch length, ease in threading and bobbin winding. She tested several of the variety of stitches on different types of fabric and was amazed how well it worked. She really liked the walking foot since she wants to be able to quilt on the go or in the TV room. It is solid built yet lightweight and comes with a carrying case. The only hiccup is the bobbin loads underneath and not on top. She said it was awkward to clean the bobbin area but was able to access it better by tilting it back and resting it on a pillow. The lightning speed is amazing on both straight and decorative stitches. It came well packaged and the instructions are easy to understand. Accessories and a pattern were included.

So far it’s been steady, sturdy & reliable. Real test is will it hold up for many years. I’ll clean it, oil it and maintenance it, so hopefully it’ll last. (Asking for reviews when a tool has served only a single project is kinda silly. We need products that LAST. DECADES.)

Machine was smaller than I expected, but runs very smooth and has a good weight to it so that it doesnt bounce or shift around while sewing. I am an avid Quilter and was looking for an extra machine to use when working on more than one project. So far so good. Have only used it for straight stitching.

This is a beautiful machine! I l HAD to have the black version; out just looks so clean cut. I can see how it would be great for a beginner or skilled sewer. Easy to read instruction manual, came with extra needles including those for leather, the decals included are cute. My favorite part is the storage compartment with the flip up lid; no having to take off the part to get inside to it. The cover is a nice sturdy plastic, easier than a case or having to keep it in the box. It sees beautifully. Only CON. If your thread jumps the pump Jack it’s hard to tell. But that’s it… besides that I love it. Well worth the cost.

This is a very good machine. At first it was hard for me to get use to bc but after watching a few YouTube videos on how to use it, I was ready to go. It gets through multiple layers of fabric with no issues and haven’t had a needle break yet
