Works great. If you are going to be doing a ton of sewing then of course you will want to invest in a fancier machine than this. However, if you just need something for small sewing jobs here and there then this will get it done.

Ordered this for granddaughters 7 & 8. Will be getting another, wanted to check it out first. Goes slowly enough that little fingers won’t get caught. Tension is good & stitches are only straight, zig zag & scallop zig zag, but good enough to teach basics. Price is good for beginners.

I bought this machine for my 7 year old to learn on. It’s a very basic machine but well made. Stitches are good and I hope it will live up to the Janome name by lasting a long time. A little hard to thread for adult hands but my daughter has no problem with it. Haha. She is loving it!
