Description
This is the ideal saw for machine, maintenance and fabricating shops where space is limited. Powered by a full 1/2 horsepower UL listed motor (rated at 1720 RPM) and three blade speeds (80, 120, 200 SFPM), this saw allows for cutting of metal, plastic and wood. Equipped with a variable hydraulic feed system to deliver a smooth, consistent feed results in longer blade life. Mounted on wheels, this saw has great mobility in the shop.

Very well built saw and would have loved to have given it a 5 star rating but—- the auto shut off absolutely did not function. No possible way to adjust it so it would function. I believe the wrong switch was installed on it. No fault of Home Depot so I called Jet and their only suggestion was to take it to a service center 2 hours from my home or return it to Home Depot an hour away from my home. I manufactured and installed my own fix and it works ok now. Easier to fix it myself without voiding the warranty than to go through the hassle of returning the saw.

This band saw is the perfect size for small shops. it is very accurate and is manufactured well. I added 5 inch casters for height and mobility. The unit by itself sets a little low for comfortable working.

Overall a great saw. It comes pretty well set up from the factory but it’s worth checking all the stops and angles during set up. The factory blade should be replaced with a bi-metal blade but I still got 30 cuts on fairly heavy material made before it broke. The adjustability is good and accurate.

Product comes mostly assembled – band saw blade is on and at the correct tension, vise is set up, and angular readings are correct. Band saw is a dry cut – so feed must be slow to not over heat the blade. Also, blade is not durable and should be replaced with a bi-metallic blade.

This saw is a nice machine. It makes miter cuts perfectly and easily, much easier than using my 7×12 saw to miter. Its much quicker to adjust the head than adjusting the vice. This is a quality machine and I expect many years of service from it. Recommended.

I rarely need to cut anything larger than 5″. this unit rolls around with one hand and is easy to store. hydraulic down feed. the low speed 1760 RPM motor runs quiet. currently using stick wax as a lubricant – may add a pump and go liquid.pick up a few extra blades too. not that expensive.
