Have used the bandsaw very little since getting it assembled but it seems to perform well. Assembly was pretty easy and all required hardware was included. I discovered a design flaw with the hand wheel and mechanism that adjusts tension on the blade. When it is loosened to far the nut on the bolt falls off. To replace the nut the blade and wheel has to be removed to get the nut back on. Took me over an hour to disassemble and put back together. Later learned that JET knew about the problem and has replaced (on newer models) the bolt with a longer one and a clip to keep nut from falling off. Have been dealing with JET customer service trying to get the new bolt and clip for over two weeks. Getting to talk to someone at JET is very difficult. You are put on hold and have to listen to a commercial telling you what great things they are doing. Would be great if they would spend some money on their customer service department.

I was a little worried about the reviews but needed the 13-inch cut so I bought one from Woodcraft. Set up was easy. I left it laying on its side in the box. Lifted it enough to put a 4 x 4 block under it so I could attach the base, then just stood it up. I checked it over and haven’t seen any slag left on welds or poor paint. Everything is top-notch and well built. I split an 11 inch round green Olivewood log like it was butter. I couldn’t be happier. I think the paint and weld issues reported in other reviews must have been a bad run. It happens in manufacturing. Note to jet: would be nice if it had a pocket or something in the upper door to keep all the Allen wrenches for it together. Other than that I am very happy with this machine.

This bandsaw is heavy and very well built. To start, the assembly was very smooth. Jet has even put all the washers and nuts on the bolts. What a huge time saver and it makes the process easier. I was able to set up by myself but 2 people is recomended. Blade change is easy and word of advice, 115” will not fit. It also does not come with a blade. So be aware. The fence is a little wonky but its not anyting terrible The machine runs very smooth and even passed the nickel test. I definatly recomend to anyone looking for a bandsaw.

I spent months comparing 14″ bandsaws and this Jet got my vote, with features like a 13″ resaw capacity, heavy and large cast iron table, a great fence, and quick-release blade tensioner. It is heavy – over 300lbs – and is vibration-free. It arrived in one large box, strapped to a pallet. Inside the box is the separate sections of the base, the table, the fence components, and the entire( pre-assembled) upper bandsaw assembly. To assemble the saw, you will need a friend:1 – assemble the base.2 – cut the box and break away the styrofoam packing from the bottom of the upper saw assembly.3 – attach the upper saw assembly to the base.4 – tilt the entire upper saw assembly and base up and out of the box.5 – assemble the remainder of saw (table, fence) and align everything. Again, it is heavy. I bought the mobile base, so I was able to tip the saw up and out of the box and directly on to the mobile base. The remaining assembly and alignment tasks were easy. It does not ship with a blade, so you’ll want to order one when you order the saw (I found no 116″ blades on the shelf at any of the local retailers). I really like this saw.

I have had this saw for about 6 months and have used it for everything from cutting out band saw boxes with a 3/16″ blade to taking an actual cedar log and cutting it into slabs. So far it has worked flawlessly. There is a slight learning curve when it comes to getting the blade on correctly and squaring everything up but I think that was because this was my first band saw. If I ever buy another I’ll know exactly what to do. I probably spent 3 months trying to decide on which band saw to buy and Jet’s reputation in the industry was one of the major reasons I went with Jet.

I would give this saw a better review if Home Depot had not charged me $1199 for the saw and $260 for the 3 year warranty (it’s now $999, $150 for the warranty) the bearings went south after slicing 24 bf of Birch, I called for replacements – they are on backorder, I bought this for my son who is disabled, he says the saw is basically a Very Good Saw with a few shortcuts that could have been prevented (Timken bearings for one, Tune the saw before shipping, it is rough running) he can’t tune it until the replacement bearings arrive- I’ve always had good service with H.D, why sell me a saw that needs to be worked on before it can be used (My son has 38 years of “Heirloom Quality” Custom Woodwork experience) He likes the saw , but wishes we would have researched it more- I like the fact it can be tuned to cut smoother, it is very well built from High Quality Materials

Great saw. No blade included. That’s not HD’s fault.

I bought this several months ago and am glad I did! I am still learning how to use it but the manual is very easy to follow the instructions. Very nice machine!

1. The fence is a bad idea: can’t easily switch between left and right of blade.2. The tyre on top wheel has a slite spot (about an inch) that is flat. This makes the blade unstable.3. The tension rod appears to be short. The nut at the bottom that holds the spring, has very little thread to hold on. It has come off on me and setting it back up is a pain. Surely, the designer must have known this. There’s nothing to prevent this problem. The rod should be at least another half inch longer.4. Compared to the original 14 inch 14CS that I replaced, the trunnion is a whole lot smaller. The table is bigger but the smallness of the trunnion assembly makes it difficult to level the table.

The service from the people at the desk was great. In the midst of this virus situation,I haven’t had a chance to even assemble my bandsaw to try it out yet. I’m excited to get it together soon as I can. Contact me later this month if you like

Had I gotten the item that was shown on the web site, the overall rating would be higher!!! The product listed on the Home Depot web site as JWBS 14-SFX 14 inch bandsaw Model 714400K is NOT what is pictured, what is pictured is a 714400 with an assembled square base, and not a 4 piece put together stand of lesser quality, although the stand very well may be sturdy enough to support this bandsaw, the stand is just one of the things that I was dependent upon being in the box. This unit does NOT come with the 1/2 or 5/8 inch, 116 inch blade, as the online manual on the Home Depot web site indicates. There are no blades for this on Home Depot’s web site, and that is a disappointment. These must be purchased from the manufacture or one of their retailers. For now the bandsaw is still laying on my shop floor waiting on a blade. I believe that Home Depot owes me a blade, do to misrepresentation of the product and listed manual. There was even a question about does this come with a blade, and it was answered as “Yes”.. I will add to this review when I receive the “DUE” blade from Home Depot!

I received my new Jet 14″ Bandsaw a few days ago. First off I am glad that I did a little research prior to placing this order, I knew what to expect unpon delivery. I did just as the videos stated to setup the bandsaw and everything went well. The only issue was with the installing the 2 screw on the upper dust chute, they required a ball ended allen wrench that was not stated in the documentation. I cannot be more happy with my new bandsaw.

JET QUALITY ALL THE WAY LOVE IT ! It does everything that I need it to do extremely efficiently. 13” Resaw is perfect for preparing logs for my Lathe (Also a Jet). Extra large very heavy work table with a large 2 way fence makes this a far better deal that any others in the price range. Notes: 1. EXTREMELY HEAVY. Easiest way to set it up is to place it horizontally on a dolly. Bolt the base together and lay it on its side. Roll the saw up to the base and bolt it together laying down and then then stand it up. Much easier than trying to lift the heaviest part up and aligning the bolts to the base. Then finish the assembly. 2. It does NOT come with a blade. The blade size is 116” which is not a common size so not a lot of stores carry them. I found a good selection at a reasonable price FYI. When you push in on the “ON” button it goes in easily and then stops and appears to do nothing. It takes a pretty strong push after it stops to turn on the saw. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a professional tool.

I bought this bandsaw to cut green logs into bowl blanks for turning on my lathe. I first used the saw yesterday with English Walnut logs, from a tree felled earlier in the week. The saw powered through the logs with no problem. I made several cuts through 13″ wood, both cross cuts, and rips. The only issue that I had was that with green wood, and a 3 tpi blade, the blade produced shreds rather than dust, and the shreds clogged the dust chutes that have a built in grid to prevent kids fingers from reaching into the blade, if the dust collector hoses happened to disconnect. The shreds backed up in the lower wheel housing and eventually built up to a level where they clogged the lower blade guides and jammed the blade to a halt. So if you are cutting green wood, you may have to stop periodically to empty out shaving from the lower wheel housing that the dust collector may not be able to clear.

More than meets my expectations, very easy to get up and running out of the box but will need a helper because its heavy, I looked at a Rikon and Laguna but would buy this one again.

Band saw arrived very quickly. There was some assembly required but nothing to complicated. I have used this saw to resaw some oak and to cut some 5 inch thick wood for bandsaw boxes it worked very well.
